The Duchess of Sussex stepped out in a typically chic ensemble for her engagement on Thursday - but royal watchers may have noticed something rather unusual about her shoes.
Meghan's nude stilettos appeared to be rather roomy, with their being plenty of extra space around the sides and the back of the shoe.
Celebrity stylist Lucas Armitage claims that this is likely a deliberate decision of the 37-year-old royal in light of her pregnancy.
Speaking to the MailOnline Armitage revealed that this is a trick used by many expectant mothers.
The Duchess of Sussex stepped out in a pair of rather roomy nude stilettos for her visit to the Association of Commonwealth Universities at City in London
Stylist Lucas Armitage explained that many expectant mothers will opt for a shoe size bigger than normal as feet tend to swell
He said: 'Buying a shoe a size or two bigger is a trick often utilised my pregnant women worried about dreaded foot swelling.'
Foot swelling is a common side effect of pregnancy, caused by the accumulation of fluid in the tissues.
Expectant women produce about 50 per cent more blood and fluids to accommodate for the baby meaning that they are more prone to swelling.
Eagle-eyed fans may also have spotted a dirty mark on one of the heels of Meghan's nude stilettos, something that can easily be avoided according to Lucas.
He added: 'The heel has some dirt where she may have walked on grass or soil and she may benefit from using a protection spray on her suede courts to avoid staining.'
But while her footwear may have been a little grubby, the pregnant Duchess' looked typically chic for her official visit with the ACU in her new role as Patron of the international organisation.
She opted for a dramatically different hairstyle today in the form of a chic top-knot.

Meghan's new hair style coincides with a busy week of royal engagements, and an expert has revealed the hairdo is the perfect way for the Duchess not to have to wash her hair too often - which is a bonus if her locks have become weaker during pregnancy.
'Not only do updos give you extra time in bed in the morning, but they also prevent your hair from over styling,' explained celebrity stylist James Johnson.
'During pregnancy, some women either find the extra hormones can make their stronger, where as some ladies conversely find themselves with weaker hair and prone to snapping.
'By keeping it up for events, Meghan is avoiding the general wear and tear your hair goes through each time it’s styled for an occasion.'
He added that an updo is also an ideal way for Meghan to avoid further damage from styling the hair.
'This can be anything from too much heat, to too much product,' he explained.
'By having her hair in a bun, Meghan has coincided her hair routine with her busy schedule, no doubt helping her mornings run more smoothly but also giving her dark locks a well deserved break from styling too.
Meghan, 37, scraped all of her hair back today, which provides a contrast to her usual messy up-do. A hair stylist has said that this particular style she fashioned could be a great way for the Duchess to avoid washing her hair, which coincides with her week of busy engagements
Hair stylist James Johnson suggested Meghan's hairstyle choice may also be due to her pregnancy hormones. He explained: 'During pregnancy, some women either find the extra hormones can make their stronger, where as some ladies conversely find themselves with weaker hair and prone to snapping'
Meghan's sleek top-knot showed off a more classy, structured side to her image, while it also helped to avid the general wear and tear of heat styling
The Duchess of Sussex, who is six months pregnant, keeping it up for events, not only does she show off a more classy, structured side to her image, she’s also avoiding the general wear and tear your hair goes through each time it’s styled for an occasion.'
Back on 4th September Meghan wore a casual side-bun when she attended the WellChild Awards in London and she tied her hair back in a neat-low bun with parted centre when she met the Irish President and his wife in July - but today (above) is the first time we have seen the sleek top-knot
'The bun featured here on Meghan is an unusual structured, sleek look for her.
'It’s nice to see Meghan try something out of her comfort zone and different from the textured, un-done hair style she usually opts for. She may even bring back the trend of the doughnut, let’s see!'
The undone bun is Meghan's favourite style, which she even rocked on her wedding day to Prince Harry in May 2018
The top bun is a new sophisticated style that we haven't seen Meghan fashion before. Back on 4th September she opted for a sophisticated but casual side-bun as she attended the WellChild Awards in London.
Prior to this, she tied her hair back in a neat-low bun with parted centre when she met the Irish President and his wife in July - which marked hers and Harry's first visit to Ireland as a married couple.
Today's engagement was Meghan's second this week, after she attended the National Theatre on London's South Bank yesterday in her first official visit since succeeding the Queen as its royal patron.
On Friday she will travel to Bristol for a joint engagement alongside her husband Prince Harry, her third engagement of the week.
During today's visit the Duchess will met students from the Commonwealth now studying in the UK, for whom access to university has transformed their lives.
The Duchess of Sussex wore her hair in a loose, low bun when she attended the WellChild awards at Royal Lancaster Hotel on September 4, 2018 in London with Prince Harry. She had loose strands at the front to shape round her face, which offered a classy appearance.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.
Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
