«Breaking News» Massachusetts middle school students surprise chorus teacher with serenade at his wedding rehearsal

A group of Massachusetts middle school students skipped class to surprise their chorus teacher with a heartfelt performance at his wedding rehearsal.

Adorable video shows Christopher Landis being brought to tears as his pupils in the Hingham Middle School Choral Spectrum serenaded him and his then-fiance Joe Michienzie with 'All You Need Is Love' by the Beatles.

'I noticed everyone was holding video cameras and I was like: "What's going on?"' Landis said of the moment the students entered the rehearsal venue. 'Then I saw the first student come in and I was like: "Oh my goodness."

'I don't think it hit me until all of these students came in and they were smiling and all dressed up. Then I started crying and they started crying.'

In the video, a look of pure shock washes over Landis' face when he sees the students, who form a semicircle around a piano before launching into their song.

Michienzie, now Landis' husband, helped coordinate the surprise performance after a parent approached him with the idea.

'Everybody really just wanted it to be the perfect moment. We wanted him to like, not in a bad way, we wanted him to cry,' student Bridget Foley told WHDH.

Landis said it was especially unexpected given that he had always described Michienzie as his 'friend' when the students asked who he was.

'It just hit me here that I always referred to him as my friend because I wasn't sure how the kids would take it or the parents,' Landis told Inside Edition

'I felt like when the kids came to sing they were basically saying: "It's okay. We know who Joe is." So now I say: "Joe, my husband."'

After the performance, one student had this message for Landis: 'It doesn’t matter who you love. When you love them, it just matters that you're in love and you both really care about each other and want to be with each other.'

Hingham Public Schools shared a video of the performance on Facebook, writing in the caption: 'Our students practiced every Sunday for a month to get ready for the surprise.'

Landis' students said he is known for his enthusiasm and passion for teaching.

'You always walk into his classroom and he’s always there with a positive attitude and maybe a compliment. He’s just so nice,' student Summer Foraste said.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
