But nearly nothing was a shocking as when Glenn Close eeked out a Best Actress win against crowd-favorite Lady Gaga.
The Wife actress, 71, brought the audience to tears with an emotional acceptance speech that she began by saying how 'honored' she was to be with 'category sisters' Lady Gaga, Nicole Kidman, Melissa McCarthy, and Rosamund Pike.

After first thanking the Hollywood Foreign Press Association she went on to lavish her 'category sisters' with praise.

She then grew tearful as she spoke of how proud she is to have fulfilled her dreams and to have had such a 'wonderful life'.

She had the whole crowd in tears, with actresses Charlize Theron, Caitriona Balfe and Melissa McCarthy also visibly welling up.
She spoke of past generations unfulfilled dreams too, telling the crowd: 'I'm thinking of my mom, who really sublimated herself to my father her whole life, and in her eighties she said to me, "I feel I haven't accomplished anything," and it was so not right.
'I feel what I've learned form this whole experience is that women, we're nurturers and that's what's expected of us. We have our children and husbands if we're lucky enough…. but we have to find personal fulfillment. We have to follow our dreams we have to say, "I can do that," and "I should be allowed to do that."

Destiny: Glenn said she was bound to be an actress, telling audiences 'When I was little, I felt like Muhammad Ali who was destined to be a boxer; I felt destined to be an actress. I saw the early Disney films [with] Hayley Mills, and I said, 'I could do that!' and here I am today'
Adding to her collection: This is Glenn's third Golden Globe win

While Gaga failed to win an acting Globe, she did not go home empty handed.
The Monster singer won the Best Song trophy for her track Shallow, which was co-written by Mark Ronson, Anthony Rossomando, and Andrew Wyatt.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.
Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
