A grandmother engaged to a man 19 years her junior insists he is the love of her life despite being told to 'find someone her own age'.
Tonya Parker, 48, has been dating Derek McGarr, 29, for five years, after meeting him in 2014 when he was 25 and she was in the midst of ending her second marriage.
The couple, both from Kansas, faced resistance from Tonya's family, who told her it was 'just a phase' and urged her to find someone more 'suitable'.
But Derek popped the question in August 2017 and the couple are now planning their wedding in July this year.

Speaking about their relationship Tonya, a plus size model and writer, revealed they have a incredible connection and have 'amazing' sex every day.
She said: 'The attraction and chemistry between us was instant, like a sweet electrical charge slowly running through me.
'He told me I was the most beautiful woman he'd ever seen in a way that I knew he was telling the truth.'
The couple lived two hours away from each other for the first two years of dating.
'We would go away together two weekends a month,' Tonya said. 'It was hell but also exciting and so passionate. We just talked, laughed and enjoyed each other's company.
'He was very immature and had never been in a relationship longer than three months. I was working on ending my second marriage.'

Tonya was introduced to Derek by a mutual friend at a friend’s birthday party, after Derek admitted it felt like a ‘thunder bolt hit him’ after seeing Tonya.
Tonya admitted the romance seemed 'impossible' and 'doomed to fail'. She continued: 'Everyone said it was a phase I was going through, but we've made each other happy in a way that was new for both of us.
'They said I needed to find someone my own age, someone more "suitable" for me. I didn't listen.'
While Derek's family has always accepted the relationship, Tonya's family still do not.
She is a mother-of-two and has one grandson named Micah, which she said can make circumstances 'very stressful'.
'I'm constantly asked to choose,' Tonya said. 'I haven't. So many fights and tears, attempts at breaking up, but we cannot stay away from each other.'

The couple moved in after a few years of dating, and despite some teething problems they are now very happy living together.
She said: 'He is a neat freak, so that took some getting used to because I'm more laid back. In fact, I would say he's type A and I'm type B.
'Derek has always been a challenge because he is very passionate and knows what he wants. He is very possessive, but I like that most of the time as I am the same.'
Their 'amazing' sex life also keeps it exciting.
'He makes me feel young, although I've never felt like my age,' Tonya said. 'It's never boring, we are very active and love to try new things.

'Our sex life is as amazing today as it was in the beginning. We have sex at least once a day and only take a break when I'm away.
'Often, we'll stay in bed all day and watch movies and cuddle. Ultimately, we just love spending time together and be in each other's company inside and outside the bedroom.
'This relationship is completely different from both my other long-term relationships. They felt comfortable, like old sneakers. Boring.
'This is exciting, refreshing, energetic. It's not something I can sleep through and that's what I need -stimulation on every level.'
Tonya said the most difficult part is living in a different town from her children and grandson.

'I go every week or two for a few days, but I miss them all the time,' she admitted. 'We're working on moving there full time, but he has an amazing job here, so it's hard to give up.'
The couple are also not planning on having any children as Tonya feels she is 'too old'. However she understands Derek might one day change his mind.
The grandmother, who has never dated anyone younger than her, said she doesn't 'qualify' as a cougar.

She added: 'I'm sure people criticise our relationship, but no one who actually knows us well as a couple. We mesh. We click. I can't always explain it, but it works. It's not always easy, relationships never are.
'To those who would criticise us, I would say worry about watering your own garden and stay out of mine.
'We have a passionate, fun, creative, satisfying, gratifying, ever evolving love affair that they should be so lucky to have.'

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.
Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
