Two women have accused a San Diego State star basketball player of filming them performing sex acts without their permission when they were in high school.
Gwen Gabert, 20, alleges that Jalen McDaniels, 20, filmed her performing a consensual sex act on him in a car on her 18th birthday while they were seniors at Federal Way High School in Washington state.
Gabert claims that McDaniels then sent the video, which he allegedly filmed on his cell phone, to teammates on the high school basketball team in a group chat.
Tally Thomas, 19, claimed McDaniels filmed her performing a sexual act on one of his teammates from a closet and likewise later sent the video to his teammates.
Thomas and Gabert, who are filing civil suits against McDaniels in King County Superior Court, said the incidents led both of them to try and commit suicide.

Gabert said she had no idea McDaniels, who was 17 at the time, was filming her.
'He said he wanted to give me a birthday kiss and that led to other things and that is the day that the video was taken,' she told Fox 5 San Diego. 'I had no idea that he was doing that.'
'I was humiliated. I was so embarrassed and I just could not believe what happened.'
Gabert said she became 'extremely depressed' and 'started self-harming'.
'I had really bad anxiety,' she said. 'I developed PTSD and in April of 2017 is when I actually tried to take my own life two times.'
Thomas was a star athlete in high school when the incident occurred.
She went to Stanford University on a scholarship to play softball but has since left college and received therapy for depression, anxiety, and eating disorders.

Like Gabert, she also attempted suicide.
'Jalen has been running from this for far too long,' said Joan Mell, the women's attorney. 'It's time for him to own up, take responsibility.'
Gabert went to the police three months after the alleged filming occurred.
The Federal Way Police Department requested that SDSU police 'secure' McDaniels' phone, but the star player declined to cooperate and the case was eventually dropped, according to Gabert's suit.
'When I came forward, the reason he didn't get in trouble was because he was an athlete,' Gabert told USA Today. 'I wasn't valued at all.'
In October, Thomas filed a $3.5million tort claim against Federal Way Public Schools, claiming she had told Jerome Collins - the high school's boy's basketball coach - about the incident but that he did not report it to authorities.
Instead, Collins arranged a meeting with Thomas' father, McDaniels, the boy who was seen in the alleged video with Thomas, and both of their own fathers.
Authorities said that both McDaniels and his teammate apologized for the incident and then deleted the video from their cell phones, according to the San Diego Union-Tribune.
They were then instructed to tell anyone else who had been sent the video to delete it as well.
McDaniels and the teammate, whose name has not been released, also met with Thomas' mother to apologize and met with Thomas and Collins in separate meetings where parents were not present, according to the investigative report.
Collins has since been placed on administrative leave.
Following Thomas' tort claim, Federal Way Police opened a case on her allegations and reopened Gabert's 2016 case.
Federal Way detective Heather Castro interviewed a number of McDaniels' former teammates. Some said they had watched the video, others had heard about it.

The department recommended two counts of voyeurism against McDaniels, but the King County District Attorney's Office declined to file charges.
Mell said prosecutors could not get the evidence it needed because in 2016 the San Diego State Police turned the issue over to the school's athletic department and SDSU basketball coach Steve Fisher - who retired last year.
'Coach Fisher shouldn't have been put into the position,' Mell said. 'I don't know why law enforcement thought it appropriate to defer it to the coach as though it's an athletic matter. It's not. It's a law enforcement matter.'
Jeremy Warren, McDaniels' attorney, said he is aware of the investigation.
'It has gone on for a couple years,' Warren said. 'The police have looked at it twice, and the DA's office has rejected any criminal charges.
'He looks forward to his day in court. Right now, he's focused on being the best student and human being he can be.'

San Diego State University told DailyMail.com that, for the time being, there will be no change to McDaniel's 'status' at the university.
'San Diego State University and SDSU Athletics takes all allegations of misconduct seriously,' the statement read.
'First and foremost, we recognize that this is a difficult time for the individuals and loved ones of all those involved.
'An investigation completed by local municipal authorities in Washington state concerning the events that preceded the current student-athlete's enrollment at the University resulted in no charges.'
'At this time, there will be no change in the individual's status at the University. The University will continue to monitor the situation.'
McDaniels is currently the second highest scorer for SDSU's basketball team. He provisionally entered the NBA 2018 Draft and worked out with more than 10 different teams before he withdrew and returned to the school.
Gabert said she hopes McDaniels is 'held responsible for his actions'.
'I want him to have something that will impact him (through) the years, maybe impact him forever,' she said.
'I did nothing wrong. I have consequences for the choice I made on my 18th birthday.
'I should have been able to make those choices and trust Jalen without having consequences that led me to almost take my life and still to this day be traumatized by what he did.'

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.
Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
