«Breaking News» Where will she go NEXT? Megyn Kelly is free to work at any news outlet following NBC exit

Megyn Kelly is reportedly free to take a new job at any other news outlet as negotiations over her exit from her $69million contract with NBC are closer to being resolved.

A source told Variety that Kelly is not expected to be bound by any non-compete restrictions, and can look for employment at other networks.

Now, the question remains: where will Kelly go next?

MSNBC is no longer an option for Kelly, and according to Variety, CNN, ABC News and CBS News either don't have immediate interest or are not able to find a spot for Kelly.

Negotiations over Kelly's exit from NBC have still not been finalized after more than a month after the scandal over her blackface comments.

Kelly reportedly signed to a three-year deal with NBC in 2017, leaving the network to now figure out what kind of severance to offer the host who had a combined $69million contract.

It was reported two weeks ago that the host was close to securing a $30million dollar payout from NBC.

A source initially told PageSix that the former Today host would sign her exit deal during the last week of November at the earliest.

Sources had earlier told DailyMail.com that she had been asking for an additional $10million on top of what was left on her contract.

The amount that Kelly will potentially receive from NBC angered several in the media industry who expressed their outrage at the time.

'When my friends get laid off, they get three weeks of severance and a few retweets begging editors to hire them,' Zach Schonfeld tweeted at the time.

'Anyway, congrats to Megyn Kelly for getting $69 million for thinking blackface is fine,' he added.

New York Times and Esquire contributor, Maris Kreizman, tweeted at the time: 'I'm feeling sad because I'll never be incompetent and unscrupulous enough to get an 8-figure severance package.'

But it was Columbia journalist Bill Grueskin who really put things in perspective.

He tweeted that Kelly's payout could also pay for the Texas Tribune's expenses for more than three years.

Grueskin said that the severance could also take care of Pro Publica's expenses for about 1.3 years.

And despite her vile blackface comments on her segment in October, Kelly will still get a significantly sized payout.

'But what is racist?', Kelly said at the time. 'Truly, you do get in trouble if you are a white person who puts on blackface at Halloween or a black person who puts on whiteface for Halloween.

'Back when I was a kid, that was OK, as long as you were dressing up as, like, a character,' Kelly said.

She immediately faced backlash over her remarks and she was accused of ignoring the ugly history of minstrel shows and movies in which whites applied blackface to mock blacks as lazy, ignorant or cowardly.

Kelly apologized to fellow NBC staffers later in the day and made a tearful apology on her show the following day.

The host made her debut as an NBC morning host in September 2017, taking over the 9am slot at Today and saying she wanted viewers 'to have a laugh with us, a smile, sometimes a tear and maybe a little hope to start your day'.

She did cooking demonstrations and explored emotional topics.

But her blackface comment was perhaps the most controversial statement she had made since joining NBC team, causing the cancellation of her show just 48 hours after the remarks were made.

Kelly has been spotted over the last month spending time with friends and family as she celebrated her 48th birthday.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
