«Breaking News» Sheridan Smith is 'taking a break to avoid things getting on top of her and having mental breakdown'

Sheridan Smith is reportedly taking a break from the spotlight to avoid another mental breakdown. 

According to The Sun, the actress, 37, who confessed she 'nearly lost her mind last year', is keen on avoiding the same fate after a troublesome few years. 

A source told the publication: 'She is very conscious of letting things get on top of her, so she’s booked some time off and is just going to have some me time.'

The star's recent one-off ITV documentary Sheridan Smith: Coming Home detailed both her professional success and personal woes. 

And speaking of the venture, it was continued: 'The documentary was mentally and physically exhausting. It was her pouring her entire heart and soul into it.

'Plus, Sheridan had to also give a lot of time and effort to Care and Cleaning Up, which are both set to be big hits,' it was concluded.

Sheridan recently candidly revealed that she 'lost the plot, her mind and had a massive meltdown' when her beloved father Colin died in 2016 after a sudden cancer battle.

Speaking on her documentary, the former Gavin And Stacey star explained: 'I kind of lost the plot after that and had a massive meltdown. I ran away.

'There's that kind of northern, "Keep calm and carry on" vibe - we're all like that. I feel I've come out the other side now.

'I want to say "It's OK not to be OK" because I didn't speak about it and then it snowballed and it came to this huge head.'

Also on the documentary Sheridan revealed how her fiancé, former insurance broker Jamie Horn, proposed to her and helped her get her life back in order following the death of her father.

The actress met her 28-year-old toyboy on dating app Tinder and gushed: 'I think I'm the happiest I've been right now. Eating a sausage, chips and gravy with the love of my life and my new puppy.'

She went on to disclose details of their shock engagement, which happened in a Yorkshire hotel room in May, just two months after the pair started dating.     

This comes after Sheridan reportedly recently worried her friends with a 20-hour booze bender after a huge row with her fiancé Jamie.

 

It was reported that the Cilla actress left their home in the country together and invited her pals to her other house in Crouch End, North London, after the 'argument'.

A source reportedly told The Sun: 'She was upset by the row with Jamie and wanted to vent to friends. She went to London but some of them insisted she had been in the wrong, which angered her even more and she chucked them out.

'After that she turned to drink and, with the few pals who were left, got through a couple of bottles of vodka.

'They were partying all night and didn’t go to sleep until 3pm on the Sunday.'

The source added that her 'real friends' are 'concerned' for her after the alleged 20-hour booze bender.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
