«Breaking News» Claire Foy jokes 'it'll take 12 human lifetimes to watch The Crown'

She portrayed Queen Elizabeth in the first two seasons of Netflix's The Crown - the most expensive television series ever made.

And Claire Foy joked about the show's extensive production as she said 'it'll take 12 human lifetimes to watch The Crown' during her hilarious hosting stint on Saturday Night Live.

The screen star, 34, who is famed for taking on drama roles, displayed her humorous side as she joined the German army and transformed into Willy Wonka for a series of skits on the late night show.

Claire won Golden Globe and Primetime Emmy awards for her portrayal of the Queen in the historical drama.

Olivia Colman is taking over the lead role from the First Man star, as the show's time setting moves along to follow the monarch's rule across the 1960s and 1970s.

During her hosting stint of the comedy show, the actress poked fun at The Crown's output, which aired ten episodes per season.

She joked: 'It will take 12 human lifetimes to watch all of our content, so start watching now!'

Further into her monologue, the brunette recounted the time she met Elizabeth, 92. Although she was quite nervous about what the matriarch might say, the award-winning actress ended up receiving only a smile from the royal.

The mother-of-one admitted the meeting did occur three years before her role on the hit show, so the royal wasn't aware of who she was.

A faux commercial mocking Netflix's plan of producing 'every show in the world' was up next.

Parodies of several shows included Leslie Jones In A Van Getting Batteries - referencing  Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee - and Saved by the Crown, which starred Claire as a queen of high school - a takeoff of Saved by the Bell.

The Promise star also appeared in a hilarious sketch of fictional PBS WWI documentary The War in Words: Letters from the Trenches.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
