A six-month-old baby girl was found alive floating in a pond in northwestern Missouri minutes after her father allegedly confessed to police that he'd drowned her.
An emotionless Jonathon Zicarelli, 28, walked into the Greenwood Police station on Monday morning and told officers that he'd attempted to drown his daughter, according to a police report.
Zicarelli allegedly told investigators he came up with the murder plot 24 hours earlier because he was 'stressed' by the holidays and wanted to make things easier for his wife, The Kansas City Star reported.
Two officers were dispatched to the pond within minutes and found the girl floating face-up in the frigid water, looking like a 'porcelain doll', Chief Greg Hallgrimson said.
The baby was removed from the pond and appeared to be in a state of shock before Corporal T Calhoun performed CPR and got her to begin breathing normally.
The officers removed the victim's wet clothing and Chief Hallgrimson wrapped her in his uniform shirt to help warm her back up.

Zicarelli allegedly told investigators that he put the baby in the pond (pictured) and watched her sink below the surface before leaving and going to the police station. Police estimated that she had been underwater for some five to seven minutes and said there was grass in her mouth, mud in her eyes and water in her lungs.
The baby was brought to a hospital and treated for severe hypothermia. She is said to be in good condition.
Officers say it is a 'miracle' she is still alive.
Zicarelli has been charged with domestic assault and prosecutors requested that his bail be set at $500,000.
Greenwood Police Lt Aaron Fordham said there 'was no emotion whatsoever' in the father's confession.
According to investigators, Zicarelli said he came up with the plan to kill his daughter 24 hours earlier, and that he had parked his car and walked to the pond three times to determine if he could drown her.
He described how he put her in the water and watched her sink before leaving.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.
Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
