A woman who joined in the rape, murder and dismemberment of 10-year-old girl with her cousin in New Mexico may still win a plea deal, a judge says.
Victoria Martens was killed in Albuquerque, in August 2016, the day after her tenth birthday.
Her mother Michelle Martens, 36, admitted she enjoyed watching her daughter being raped and sat back to watch Victoria be killed by her boyfriend Fabian Gonzales, 33, and his cousin, Jessica Kelley, 33.
Just days before Kelley's trial is set to begin a judge in Bernalillo County told lawyers, 'I’ll take a plea agreement anytime in this case if you guys get something worked out,' KOAT reported.
Kelley's defense lawyer told the judge that of the 529 potential jurors who received letters only 32 had responded without any prior knowledge of the case.

There will be a final hearing Friday before the trial begins on Monday.
Victoria was strangled to death and an autopsy report revealed she had been given alcohol and had contacted an STD, the Albuquerque Journal reported.
Experts believe she was sexually abused for months before her death and her mother reportedly told investigators that she had offered her daughter to pedophiles online.
Michelle initially told officers had daughter had died from a methamphetamine overdose, which she said she gave the girl to relax.
Police allege that Michelle watched as Gonzalez raped and strangled her child, Kelley then joined in the dismemberment of the body with Gonzalez.

Michelle initially told officers that she and Gonzales had been attacked by Kelley, a convicted rapist, in the night, and had no idea what had happened to Victoria.
But during the course of the police interviews, her story changed: she then told cops she and Gonzales had left Victoria alone with Kelley, and the girl had died after taking some meth she found.
Ultimately, she admitted that she had sat back and watched Gonzales and Kelley rape and murder her daughter, even though the girl begged for mercy, KTLA reported.
Indeed she admitted she had watched the pair rape Victoria on at least three other occasions in the days before she was killed, and she thinks Gonzales had been abusing her for a month while she was at work.
The last time Kelley appeared in court she was in a wheelchair after badly injuring her foot when she jumped through a window in an attempt at escaping the police in August 2016
She told cops she enjoyed watching her daughter be violated, and had let two other men have sex with her in the six months before the murder.
It is not clear if the police have traced those men or whether they have been tested for the STD which Victoria had been infected with.
Police discovered Victoria's body wrapped in a burning blanket in the bathtub of an apartment owned by Michelle.
Some of her remains were found in a plastic bag in a hamper near the kitchen.
Kelley had been staying with her cousin and Martens after being released from jail, and badly injured her foot as she attempted to flee by jumping through the window.
Her appearance was described as vastly different as she returned to court without her limp on Thursday.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.
Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
