«Breaking News» Trump says American people and military are winners of 2018 and blasts Democrats as biggest losers

President Donald Trump says the American people and the military were the biggest winners of 2018 while Democrats were the year's biggest losers.  

The president was asked to reflect on the year during a phone interview with Fox News correspondent Pete Hegseth on New Year's Eve as he waited to ring in 2019 at the White House.   

Speaking from Times Square during Fox News' All-American New Year special, Hegseth said: 'New Year's Eve, for a lot of our viewers, is a time for reflection. You look back on 2018 and look forward to 2019. Who are your big winners and who are the big losers in the last year? 

Trump replied: 'I think the winners are the American people. We've gotten them tax cuts and jobs. Jobs like they've never had before. We've taken care of the military and rebuilt large portions and very shortly all of our military which was depleted. I think that the big winners are the people of the country. That makes me very happy.'

He said that he thinks Democrats planning to oppose him in the 2020 presidential race are - or will be - the biggest losers 

He continued: 'The one that has lost, you know, I don't want to really say. You have certainly a lot of people that wanted to do things that it didn't work out.' 

Likely referencing the 2020 election, Trump said: 'I think when you look at some of the candidates that are announcing right now, I think they'll end up being the losers. You have a lot of people. Thirty-two people could be with the Democrats. Let's see what happens.

'I'm really more interested in the winners. And the winners are the people of the United States.'

Hegseth went on to ask about Trump's 2019 resolutions and predictions, to which the president replied: 'I think we're going to have a great form of wealth. We've created a lot of wealth for our country. That's very important. That means jobs, it means prosperity, it means we can afford to do what we're doing with the military.

'We're working on tremendous trade deals where other countries have taken advantage of us so badly. I complained on all of the stuff. I'm producing better [deals] than I said during the campaign. I think we're going to have tremendous success with trade deals. 

'I think we're going to have tremendously rebuilt military for strength and hopefully we'll never have to use our military. It will be so strong we'll never have to use it. That would be a good thing.' 

Hours earlier the president wished America a happy new year in a Twitter video with a self-pitying reminder that he'll be ringing in 2019 at the White House instead of at Mar a Lago with his family as was previously planned. 'While I'm at the White House working you're out there partying tonight, but I don't blame you,' Trump said in the 11-second video. 'Enjoy yourselves, we're going to have a great year. Have a really, really happy new year'

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
