«Breaking News» Roger Federer spotted on a rare date night with wife Mirka in Perth

Being one of the greatest tennis players of all-time, Roger Federer has plenty of reasons to celebrate.

And on Monday night, the 37-year-old sportsman attended the Hopman Cup New Year's Eve Gala Dinner alongside his wife Mirka, 40.

While Mirka is often seen cheering on her husband courtside, the couple are rarely spotted on date nights, making the soirée in Perth a rather special occasion.

Roger looked dapper for the occasion in a black suit, which he paired with a white shirt and thin black tie.

Meanwhile his wife-of-nine-years cut an elegant figure in a black shirt which featured lace detailing and a high neck.

Mirka, who is a former tennis pro, completed her look with a full-length white skirt featuring a floral print, and silver open-toed shoes. 

What's wrong? Despite the celebratory occasion, Mirka was unsmiling and at times looked rather downcast

The 21-year-old sports prodigy wore a daring ensemble as she posed arm-in-arm with the world No. 3 superstar.

She looked sensational in a figure-hugging black frock featuring a daring thigh split and stud detailing down the side. 

Roger and Mirka first met at the Sydney Olympics in 2000, where they both competed. They married on April 11, 2009 and share four children together.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
