«Breaking News» The cast of Buffy the Vampire Slayer reunites in Portland 16 years later

11 castmembers from Buffy the Vampire Slayer reunited onstage the Oregon Convention Center during Wizard World Portland on Sunday.

It's been 16 years since the ensemble starred in The WB/UPN supernatural drama (based on Fran Rubel Kuzui's 1992 film), which ran for seven seasons (1997-2003).

The group included Amber Benson (Tara), Julie Benz (Darla), Iyari Limon (Kennedy), Amy Acker (Fred), James Leary (Clem), James Marsters (Spike), Clare Kramer (Glory), Alexis Denisof (Wesley), Charisma Carpenter (Cordelia), Alyson Hannigan (Willow), and Nicholas Brendon (Xander).

Upon seeing the slew of backstage snaps at the fan convention, Buffy creator Joss Whedon tweeted the cover of Mindy Kaling's 2011 book Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me, captioned: 'Me RN.'

While reminiscing, the cast also discussed their favorite colors (Alyson picked green), Girl Scout cookies, and identified which Harry Potter houses they belonged in.

In behind-the-scenes Instagram images, Hannigan's real-life husband Alexis Denisof fanned out some cash as he got up close and personal with Nicholas.

Meanwhile, Marsters got some affection from his castmates Clare and Charisma.

Noticeably missing were Buffy's two biggest stars - Sarah Michelle Gellar (who played the titular teen) and her onscreen leading man David Boreanaz (whose spin-off Angel ran five seasons).

And it looks as though Joss Whedon and Monica Owusu-Breen's reboot of Buffy the Vampire Slayer (without Gellar's involvement) won't be happening anytime soon on Fox.

'It's not on an incredibly fast track,' Fox TV Group CEO Gary Newman said at the TCA press tour on August 2 - according to E! News.

'There actually is no script to see. We've sat down with the creators and have had conversations with them about it. It's a very exciting prospect. It's still fairly early, we haven't pitched it to any possible licensees yet. All that is still to come.'

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
