Tough time: Coronation Street star Nicola Thorp has revealed a horrific ordeal when she was sexually harassed by a male director, as they worked on a documentary about women's rights
Speaking about her ordeal, Nicola admitted that it was not the first time she had been harassed at work, as she was previously locked in bathroom aged 19 by a manager, who wold not let her leave until he kissed her.
The actress - who played Nicola Rubinstein on Corrie - then admitted that aged 21 a married theatre director harassed her with sexual text messages, and threatened to ruin her career if she didn't comply.
She then revealed: 'A man in the public eye approached me to do a documentary about women's rights and then, in the process, he told me how much he wanted to have sex with me.

'He then started sending me photos of dresses and shoes he thought I'd look sexy in at three in the morning.
'That really messed me up for a while. It made me think, ',well, did I encourage him? Was my worth as a potential presenter of a documentary only gauged by how much I flirted with him?',
Ahead of landing her role on Corrie Nicola made headlines in 2016 when she publicly condemned financial services firm PwC for sending her home from a receptionist job, after she refused to wear high heels.
Speaking out: Nicola also spoke about two other experiences of harassment in the workplace, as she prepares to speak at Care International’s #March4Women rally in London on Sunday
The star was involved in a heated debate on Good Morning Britain around the subject, but said that speaking out gave her a huge confidence boost.
On Sunday, Nicola will join numerous other stars including Helena Bonham Carter, Amanda Abbington, Annie Lennox and Sue Perkins at Care International’s #March4Women rally in London.
The star will also give a talk at the rally, which will call for a global law to protect women from sexual harassment, violence and abuse in the workplace.
Acclaimed: Nicola played the role of Nicola Rubinstein on Corrie from June 2017 until June 2018, before returning for a brief stint earlier this year

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.
Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
