«Breaking News» Coronation Street: Shock death REVEALED in funeral snaps

On Wednesday, photos emerged from the set of Coronation Street of villain Clayton Hibbs attending a funeral.

And in further snaps taken on location on Thursday, it's become clear whose funeral he's been let out of prison to be at.

A hearse with a coffin and flower lettering spelling out 'DAD' in it seemingly confirms that it's Clayton's own father, Dane, who has died.

Viewers met him in a past episode where violent Dane threatened his ex Shona - Clayton's mother, played by Julia Goulding - and her new man David Platt, played by Jack P Shepherd, trying to drive off with the children.

It's unclear how Dane dies, but a teaser clip broadcast on ITV on Monday saw Shona visit Clayton in hospital, badly bruised and cut.

The character is currently in jail for the murder of Kylie Platt - David's late wife - but it seems trouble behind bars sends him to hospital.

And he is allowed to attend his father's funeral as actor Callum Harrison, who portrays Clayton, was seen in black, handcuffed to a police officer.

Reunion: Clayton's mother Shona Ramsey, played by Julia Goulding, was also seen on location for the funeral scenes

 

Chilly: Julia appeared to be feeling the cold as she wrapped up in several warm layers and clutched a pink hot water bottle to her chest 

Back to filming: The actress quickly ditched the oversized red padded jacket and heating device when it was time to return to filming 

Coming soon: It may not be a total surprise to viewers of the long-running ITV soap to see Clayton back, after a preview teaser saw him crop up on Tuesday

Fans of the show might be baffled to see the character back, given that he was last seen being sentenced to 15 years behind bars, for the murder of Kylie.

Billy Mayhew, played by Daniel Brocklebank, was also on set.

Clayton and Shona last shared the screen in 2017, when she was seen visiting him prison.

'Dad': Clayton was pictured walking behind the white coffin and flowers decorated into the word 'dad' 

The plot thickens: It's also rumoured that Clayton will use his mother in a plot to smuggle drugs into prison as well

Tension: Clayton and Shona last shared the screen in 2017, when she was seen visiting him prison

Ouch: The character appeared very badly beaten as he had several grazes and cuts to his face 

Mourning: The filming scene involved several of the soap's star and extras as they paid their condolences during the filming scene  

It's also rumoured that Clayton will use his mother in a plot to smuggle drugs into prison as well. 

Corrie boss Iain MacLeod previously said: 'We've got a story where Clayton will rear his ugly, criminal head.'

He told Digital Spy: 'He throws a massive spanner in the works for David and he tries to embroil Shona in a plot to smuggle drugs into prison. It becomes a story about Shona and her son and throws into question David and Shona's relationship.

'Clayton has been locked up and it provides the biggest challenge to David and Shona's relationship since the Josh story.'

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
