A Florida commissioner is under fire after she called Muslim congresswoman Rashida Tlaib a 'danger' who could 'become a martyr and blow up Capitol Hill'.
Now Hallandale Beach Commissioner Anabelle Lima-Taub is facing censure from the mayor and her own commission following her shocking remarks on social media.
But Lima-Taub has refused to back down, writing subsequent posts defending her criticism of Tlaib, who is one of the first two Muslim women to ever serve in Congress.
The City Commission of Hallandale Beach and Hallandale Beach Mayor Joy Adams are formally censuring Lima-Taub for 'promoting bigotry, fueling hatred, and creating a hostile environment for the City's Muslim residents'.

Lima-Taub first stirred up controversy after she proudly posted a petition she had signed to remove Tlaib from Congress after the Michigan congresswoman said 'we're gonna impeach the m**********r' in reference to Donald Trump
'Commissioner Lima-Taub's comments promote bigotry and fuel hatred,' reads the resolution.
'By vilifying a government official for her religious beliefs and accusing her of being a potential terrorist willing to murder other government officials without evidence, she has created a hostile environment for the city's Muslim residents.'
'Instead of apologizing for her remarks, Commissioner Lima-Taub has doubled down, even going so far as demanding an apology from Congresswoman Tlaib.'
The resolution then went on to say that Lima-Taub had promoted 'a racist stereotype that all Muslims are terrorists'.
'The Mayor and City Commission of the City of Hallandale Beach wish to denounce the Islamophobic comments of Commissioner Lima-Taub and demand an apology on behalf of Congresswoman Tlaib and the citizens of Hallandale Beach,' it concluded.

Lima-Taub later removed the Facebook post, only to post another one in which she said she was 'offended by anyone who is NOT offended by Rashida Talib's hateful rhetoric'
In yet another Facebook post on her official page, Lima-Taub claimed that her 'position' on Tlaib had 'nothing to do with the religion of Islam'
'Proudly signed,' Lima-Taub wrote alongside the petition. 'A Hamas-loving anti-Semite has NO place in government! She is a danger and would not put it past her to become a martyr and blow up Capitol Hill.'
Lima-Taub later removed the Facebook post, only to post another one in which she said she was 'offended by anyone who is NOT offended by Rashida Talib's hateful rhetoric'.
The commissioner went on to claim that Talib had 'radical dangerous views' and 'anti-Semitic rhetoric' because of her support for BDS, the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions movement against Israel.
Lima-Taub also claimed that Talib had relabeled Israel as Palestine on a map hanging on the wall in her congressional office. The map shows a Post-It Note with the word 'Palestine' and an arrow pointing underneath where Israel is located.
'This country affords her the right to freedom of speech, and I remain unapologetic for my views that she is a danger to the peace process,' Lima-Taub continued.

Tlaib has since responded to Lima-Taub's comments on Twitter, connecting them to Trump and the Republicans in government
'Islam itself is a peaceful religion; however, it has been hijacked by radicals who use Islam as a shield to justify and commit terror across the globe,' she wrote.
'I am hypersensitive to hateful vitriol spewed from supporters of any hate group. Rashida Tlaib has been unapologetic and steadfast in her support and allegiance with the BDS movement.'
'This dangerous position has no place in the United States of America, and certainly not in Capitol Hill.'
Hallandale Beach Commissioner Michele Lazarow, who sponsored the resolution, said she wanted to do more than speak out against Lima-Taub's remarks.
'I believe we need to take action as a city,' Lazarow said in a statement. 'I believe we must take action to show all who are watching that Hallandale Beach isn't a place that tolerates hatred and bigotry.'
Tlaib has since responded to Lima-Taub's comments on Twitter, connecting them to Trump's presidency.
'This sort of hateful anti-Muslim rhetoric doesn't happen in a vacuum - this President embraced it and Republicans have happily gone along with it,' she tweeted.
Tlaib also told the Miami Herald that Lima-Taub's remarks are part of an effort to punish those who support BDS, which she said is being led by Florida Sen Marco Rubio.
Rubio also responded to the controversy, condemning Lima-Taub's remarks.
'I don't believe supporting BDS means you support bombing anything,' he said. 'I don't know who the commissioner was or why they said it.'

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.
Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
