«Breaking News» Two dead and nine injured after truck smashes head-on into Illinois school bus

Two people have been killed and another nine inured after a truck going the wrong way down a highway smashed into a school bus carrying a girls' basketball team. 

Charles Crabtree, 72, a volunteer from Normal West High School in Illinois, died alongside the 34-year-old truck driver, who police did not immediately name.

Another man and eight members of the basketball team were left with non-life-threatening injuries in the crash, which happened around 8.30pm on Wednesday.

The team were returning from a game against a nearby school along the I-74 between Downs and Bloomington when the smash occurred.

School district Danya Brown told local paper The Pantagraph:  'Whenever you hear there's a bus accident, your stomach stops, and you just hope everyone is OK.

'That wasn't the case tonight. We never want that to be the story we have to tell.'

Investigators said the truck driver was from Iowa but said they would not give his name until next of kin could be informed.

They offered no explanation as to how he ended up driving on the wrong side of the carriageway.

Brown also told WJBC that classes would take place as normal on Thursday, but counselors would be provided.

She said: 'We'll have some staff from the school. We’ll also have some staff from the district. We have administrators. 

'We'll have extra administrative support, and we’ll be sure that everyone is supported in anything they need.'

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
