«Breaking News» Hailee Steinfeld says she 'owes a lot' to her family for the sacrifices they made

She burst onto the Hollywood scene as the breakout star of The Coen Brothers' True Grit in 2011, before embarking on a successful singing and acting career. 


And Hailee Steinfeld revealed the toll her chosen career has had, as she thanked her family for 'sacrificing' things for her so that she could achieve her dreams during an appearance on ITV1's Lorraine in London on Thursday morning.


The actress, 21, explained: 'I owe a lot to my family for keeping me in check and loving me, and sacrificing for me.'

Speaking about body image in the industry, and how music helps her present positivity, she added: 'It definitely is difficult to get wrapped up in, and finding validation in places we shouldn't [like the] number of likes and comments we get.

'My music is a way to express my feelings, and connect me with [those] feelings, that's the beauty of music, it's a way to connect and that's exactly what it's done for me.'


Hailee was also on hand to discuss her new film Bumblebee, which is the latest in Michael Bay's Transformers franchise.

Of her role of Charlie Watson, she gushed: 'Oh my god, I absolutely [loved it], any chance I get to play a female character with a strong personality and a voice is great.' 


She added that the film was 'very physically demanding, very exciting' and she was 'put to the test every day', before adding that it was a 'great experience'.


Hailee's character is a young California mechanic who discovers robot Bumblebee in disguise in a junkyard in 1987.


While she's trying to find her place in the world, just before turning 18, she forms a bond with the robot, who also doubles up as a yellow Volkswagen.

The musician explained that fans 'will appreciate' the film for how it explores Bumblebee's origins, as well as her character's coming-of-age story.

She boosted her height in a pair of stylish black lace-up boots, and accessorised by putting her personal belongings in a small handbag.


Hailee swept back her brunette locks off her face to let her hair tumble over her shoulders, and she wore a natural palette of make-up to highlight her pretty features.


Bumblebee is set for release in cinemas across the US on December 21, and in the UK on December 24.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
