«Breaking News» Three-year-old's Poundland Disney DVD turns out to be The EXORCIST

A mother was shocked when she discovered that a Disney film she bought as a Christmas Eve treat for her young son was actually horror film The Exorcist.

Beth Golding, 22, realised a few minutes after pressing play that the film was too 'dark and scary' to be Treasure Planet, reports the Sun.

Ms Golding, who bought the DVD at Poundland in Canterbury, Kent, said her partner quickly turned the movie off and three-year-old Eli didn't see anything scary.

The young mother had purchased the film just before Christmas and the case was labelled as Disney's 2002 Treasure Planet.

The family friendly movie tells the story of a teenage pirate explorer who travels through space and is based on Robert Louis Stevenson's novel Treasure Island.

However inside the box was the 1973 horror classic The Exorcist which is about little girl who is possessed by a demon.

Entertainment Weekly nominated it as one of the scariest films of all time in 1999 and it has won two Oscars and four Golden Globes.

Ms Golding told KentOnline: 'Luckily my son didn't see anything, but that's not the point - he could have seen something he shouldn't have.'

The primary school worker said she was told to take the film back to the store for a refund but she said that's not the issue with the mixup.

She said: 'I don't care about getting my pound back, that's not the point.'

A spokesman for Poundland told Kent Online that they're 'awaiting the necessary documentation to pass on to the supplier to investigate.'

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
