«Breaking News» Tesla owners complain of being ICEd by rude pickup truck drivers who block supercharger stations

Tesla owners are increasingly complaining about rude truck drivers intentionally blocking supercharger stations, a practice so common it has become known as 'ICEing' for 'internal combustion engine'.

The latest incident occurred on Saturday at a Sheetz in Hickory, North Carolina, where a Tesla Model 3 owner was shocked to find pickup trucks blocking all of the electric charging stations.

'I've never had a supercharging experience like this one. These trucks blocked all the chargers, chanted 'F' Tesla, and were kicked out by a Sheetz employee,' wrote Reddit user Leicina, posting a picture of three jacked-up pickup trucks backed into the charging ports.

'Who do you report activity like this to? It was really uncomfortable,' she continued.

'These guys parked in a Tesla charging spot with their gas (or diesel) truck, unhooked the charge cable, and laid it into their truck bed for 'comedic' effect,' wrote Reddit user freckletan.

'It would be the equivalent of a Tesla parking at a fuel pump at a gas station and walking away.'

On December 18, Reddit user RedfieldStandard posted a photo of what appeared to be contractor pickup trucks parallel parked in front of the supercharger stations at a Hampton Inn & Suites in El Paso, Texas.

'We were almost stranded all night,' he wrote. 'I rode up on the curb and did a 12 point turn between the truck and another vehicle with about 1 inch to spare on either side to connect.'

'We called the city police but before they arrived I accidentally flagged down a couple of El Paso Sheriff deputies who went down to the hotel and started knocking on every door until they found who owned the trucks,' the Tesla owner wrote.

'We had to hit the road to get home, but I wish I could have seen the fallout.'

RedfieldStandard took note of Lecina's trouble at the Sheetz in North Carolina, and commented that it appeared to be a rising trend.

'I think this kind of situation is going to escalate into a serious incident soon. This ridiculous unreasonable hostility is just getting worse,' he said.

So far, nine states have passed laws banning combustion-engine vehicles from parking at electric charging ports: Arizona, California, Florida, Hawaii, Illinois, Massachusetts, Oregon, Rhode Island, and Washington.

Cities including Washington DC, Seattle, Baltimore, Raleigh, North Carolina and Knoxville, Tennessee have also passed local ordinances forbidding the practice.

It is not the first instance of hostility between pickup trucks and electric vehicles.

In years past, the practice of 'rolling coal', or intentionally modifying diesel trucks to emit huge plumes of noxious black exhaust, has at times been directed at electric cars.

It may be Tesla that has the last laugh, however. The company is known to be working on its own electric pickup truck, with analysts suggesting a production date as soon at spring of 2019.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
