«Breaking News» Sir Elton John reveals he only turns the TV on to watch the Queen's speech at Christmas

Sir Elton John has revealed that the only television he watches on Christmas Day is the Queen's speech.

The singer, who has sons Zachary, seven, and Elijah, five, with husband David Furnish, said he keeps the TV off to 'make our time together extra special'. 

The music legend, 71, right, also urged people to put down their mobile phones so they can spend 'meaningful time face-to-face with family and friends'.

He told Radio Times' Christmas issue: 'Aside from the Queen's speech, we tend to keep the telly switched off as we like to enjoy our presents, play games and listen to carols. 

Christmas is a time of peace and family, so we really try to make our time together extra special.'

Asked his hopes for 2019, he said: 'I hope people can spend less time on their phones. 

'I love the benefits that technology has given us, but … nothing beats a lively conversation and huge laughs.'

In an interview with the Radio Times the singer said: 'Aside from the Queen's speech, we tend to keep the telly switched off as we like to enjoy our presents, play games and listen to carols'

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
