There were scenes of carnage in Newcastle this weekend as revellers went out to mark the start of Christmas party season with a night of alcohol-fuelled celebrating.
Despite the chilly temperatures, dozens of party-goers descended on Newcastle's Bigg Market over the weekend while dressed in an array of festive outfits.
Christmas jumpers, elf costumes and Santa hats were on display with revellers combining the festive accessories with their heels and skinny jeans.
And the season of good will was lost on some with photos showing police grappling with revellers to try and maintain order.
One woman was even pictured with blood pouring down her face after an altercation during the night.
Offices could also be seen pushing some people into the back of police vans towards the end of the night while other photos showed revellers locked in bitter arguments.

There was scenes of carnage as police officers arrested some of the party-goers in a bid to try and maintain control and order
This police officer could be seen attempting to calm a man down during the night as temperatures got heated throughout
In the main, revellers seemed to be enjoying the festive spirit, especially these five ladies who dressed in the colours of Santa
And this woman looked very glamorous as she joined dozens of other people on a night out to mark the start of the festive season
Despite being dressed up in Christmas jumpers, these two friends looked anything but merry as they sat on a bench on their phones
You couldn't accuse these two friends of lacking excitement, however, with grins plastered on their faces as they enjoyed the party
Pint glass in hand, this man seemed to fully embrace the Christmas spirit with a delightful jacket decorated with Christmas images
Though these two women look happy to be heading home, they clearly made a big effort on the night, both sporting Santa costumes
These four look fed-up as they walk away from a club with rain covering the pavement. One woman has taken off her Santa hat and seems to remonstrating about something very loudly to her companions
Yet the rain didn't get this man down as he posed happily for a photo - despite the driving rain and less than impressed revellers around him
This elf didn't seem so jolly as she made her way back from a night of partying and revelry at Newcastle's Bigg Market
Police officers looked as if they were kept very busy during the night, with this photo showing them loading one reveller into a police fan
Officers could be seen attending to the injured and bloodied woman as they tried to work out who had injured her so badly
Some revellers looked to be on the point of blows at the end of the night, with this photo showing a heated argument continuing into a taxi
One man seems particularly incensed for some reason - though the apparent subject of his anger can be seen raising his hands to try and calm the aggressor down
This woman, slumped on the floor, looked a little worse for wear as she slapped a hand over her mouth while sitting on the wet ground without shoes on
And she wasn't the only person to look a bit worse for wear, with this woman slipping to the ground and having to be helped up by her companion
But although some people looked miserable by the end of the night, others looked very happy, including this woman

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.
Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
