«Breaking News» Rudy Giuliani admits Trump signed Trump Tower Moscow intent letter in major reversal

Donald Trump's attorney Rudy Giuliani was forced Wednesday into an embarrassing admission that he was wrong to say the president had not signed a letter of intent to build a Trump Tower Moscow during the presidential campaign.

The ex-New York mayor admitted to Reuters that he had 'made a mistake' by denying on CNN on Sunday that a signed letter of intent existed.

CNN published the letter late Tuesday and showed it was dated October 28, 2015, prompting the climbdown by Giuliani, the latest example of him saying he misspoke while defending the president on television.

'If I said it, I made a mistake,' Giuliani said of his previous denial about Trump having signed the letter.

'There's nothing wrong with his signing it. When he did it, he wasn't president yet.'

The letter was also signed by Andrey Rozov, who owns Russia-based I.C. Expert Investment Co. The White House did not respond to a request for comment.

Giuliani had said in a Sunday interview on CNN that the letter existed but 'no one' had signed it.

That fell apart in public on Tuesday when CNN's Chris Cuomo's obtained a copy of the signed letter and showed viewers during his 9 p.m. show.

'It is signed by Donald J. Trump,' Cuomo told viewers. 'How do I know it was? Because we've been told by his lawyer, and it is.'

Cornered, Giuliani said the letter was 'bulls***' because it never went anywhere.

'That was the end of it,' Giuliani told the New York Daily News on Tuesday evening. 'It means nothing but an expression of interest that means very little unless it goes to a contract and it never did.'

He also seemed to 'forget' what he'd told CNN on Sunday, because the Trump attorney also said, 'I don't think I said nobody signed it.'

The signed letter that's dated October 28, 2015 outlined plans for a Trump hotel, as well as condominiums and commercial property in Moscow, complete with an Ivanka Trump-branded spa.

It revealed that the project would have given Trump's company a '$4 million upfront fee, no upfront costs, a percentage of the sales, and control over marketing and design', according to documents published by CNN.

'For a deal that didn't mean anything, it's a lot of pages, man,' Cuomo said. 'With a lot of detail about what they wanted and how they wanted it and how he would be paid.'

'And there's his signature,' he declared, holding up final page of the letter that bears Trump's signature so that the camera could capture it.

While campaigning for the presidency in 2016, Trump repeatedly claimed he had nothing to do with Vladimir Putin or Russia.

It has since emerged that he was pursuing a Trump Tower project there as late as the general election.

Trump told DailyMail.com on Nov. 29 that he couldn't remember when he put a halt to the conversation, he was busy running for president at the time, but it was sometime before he was elected.

The president mentioned 'a form' that was put forward, which seems to refer to the letter of intent, as he spoke to reporters congregated at the White House, and said his interest 'lasted a short period of time' in the tower that was 'an option' and he ultimately decided against.

'I didn't do the project. I decided not to do the project. So I didn't do it. So we're not talking about doing a project; we're talking about not doing a project,' he asserted.

The deal also said that Trump would be able to name the hotel spa after his daughter Ivanka

Giuliani acknowledged on Sunday that Trump had worked with his former attorney Michael Cohen on the project for longer than previously indicated.

He indicated that Trump said in his written responses to questions from special counsel Robert Mueller that the talks may have continued late into the 2016 election.

'According to the answer that he gave, it would have covered all the way up to November of 2016,' Giuliani said on ABC's 'This Week' program.

He told CNN's Dana Bash that same day: 'It was a real estate project. There was a letter of intent to go forward, but no one signed it.'

Last month, Cohen pleaded guilty to lying to Congress about plans to build a Trump property in Moscow.

He originally told a Senate committee that the project was dropped in January 2016 yet later admitted that was untrue and he had continued to pursue the matter until June 2016.

Giuliani revealed last week that Trump told Mueller's team he spoke to Cohen about the project but did not specify exactly when those conversations took place.

The former New York City mayor said the president doesn't remember when the conversations took place but is safe in what he told the special counsel because he said the discussions happened sometime during the 2016 campaign.

Those conversations could have been in June or July of 2016, Giuliani noted.

'Up until November 2016, they could have had a conversation about Trump Tower Moscow, and it went nowhere,' he told CNN.

Cohen told prosecutors he considered going to Moscow himself and that he raised the possibility of Trump going there during the general election campaign to seal the deal.

He said he personally briefed Trump about Trump Tower Moscow on several occasions, as well as Trump family members.

Last week, a judge sentenced Cohen to three years in prison stemming from federal charges of tax fraud and bank fraud, and campaign finance violations.

Presenting the letter of intent on Tuesday,  Cuomo noted it's not Cohen's name that is on documents — it's Donald Trump's.

'Here's the letter. Cohen didn't sign it. The president did,' he said, holding it up.

Giuliani told the Daily News after the primetime program that Trump had 'of course' signed the letter of intent, adding, 'How could you send it but nobody signed it?'

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
