«Breaking News» Ruby Rose is seen as her alter ego Batwoman in the latest Elseworlds trailer

She's played a variety of roles recently, making her a breakout star in Hollywood.

But it seems Ruby Rose's latest role is one of her most 'badass' yet.

In a new extended trailer for the upcoming CW show Elseworlds, the Australian actress, 32, can be seen as her alter ego Batwoman, DC Comic's first openly gay superhero.

In the clip, Ruby can be seen in costume as Batwoman, complete with her mask and red hair, before being seen defeating her enemies and cracking a joke.

'Who is this bada**?' a character can be heard saying in the trailer, before Ruby appears in character.

She then can be seen telling an enemy out of her Batwoman costume: 'To rain on your parade.'

The Orange Is The New Black star -who identifies as gender fluid- told TV Week on Monday how excited she was to play the openly gay character.

Ruby called the gig a breakthrough role a 'win' for the LGBTIQ community.

'It fulfils my life mantra of, "Be the person you needed when you were young,"' she told the magazine.

'I can't speak on behalf of everyone in the LGBTIQ community, but I know any win for anyone in our community is a win for all.'

The John Wick star also confessed stepping into the iconic costume was quite the task.

'There's a reason you never see superheroes get into their suits on film, because it's the most humbling and unattractive thing in the world,' she told the magazine.

'And you don't dare drink a glass of water!'

Fans will be introduced to Ruby's Batwoman during an upcoming crossover event between Supergirl, Arrow and The Flash titled Elseworlds on US TV network, The CW.

Ruby will then return to the network next year with her own series, focused on Batwoman.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
