«Breaking News» NYC goes six days without a murder during Christmas week as city nears less than 300 for second year

Seems the streets of New York City have gotten a lot nicer. 

The Big Apple has gone six whole days without any homicides, with the last murder having taken place on Friday. 

New York City is slated to pull in another year where there were less than 300 murders for the entire year. 

There have only been 283 homicides as of December 23, the New York Daily News reports.

That number is three figures down from the 286 that happened at the same point last year, translating into a one per cent drop. But from 2016 that figure has dropped 14 per cent.

Last year was the first time that the count had dropped below 300 since 1951. 

Comparatively, in 1990 there were 2,245 murders and in 1991 there were 2,154. More recently, there were 515 homicides in 2011. 

Most major crime categories are down in the city. Rape, however, is showing increased rates of 24 per cent mostly due to increased reporting in the era of #MeToo. 

Grand larceny has risen by .3 per cent from 42,555 last year to 42,670 this year. 

Overall crime has dropped 1.5 per cent this year to 93,747 after being 95,215 in 2017.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
