A new pair of sneakers can put an extra spring in your step but once they lose that pristine look they can lack a bit of soul.
The fabric can look a bit wrinkled, the rubber soles squished, and the shoe tired and worn out like the wearer after a long morning run.
But a simple step might be all you need to turn back time.
The secret to reclaiming that new look is a humble household item that can be found in most bathrooms.
Reddit user PartyxDirtyDan shared a before and after photo (pictured) of his sneakers and revealed that he used a hairdryer on the foam of his shoes to help to iron out the crinkles

Reddit user PartyxDirtyDan shared a before and after photo of his sneakers after he used a hairdryer on the foam of his shoes to help iron out crinkles.
The difference is clear to see: in the first pair of photos, the shoes look wrinkled and worn but in the second, the shoes have been totally transformed.
The shoes look as though they have come straight from the shops.
'Tried using a blow dryer on my Acronym Prestos after seeing the post about un-creasing NMD blocks. Worked great!,' Dan posted on a Reddit forum.
He then explained exactly how he carried out the simple process.

Micellar water (left) doesn't only work as a beauty product - the cleanser and makeup remover can be used for countless other things too, including cleaning trainers (right)
'When you do this make sure to heat spots for about a minute at a time and move on to another section,' he explained.
'Switch off on the areas you work on to make sure you don't melt the glue on the outsole and upper.
'I just did a few rounds on each spot and it turned out great.'
He added that the dryer certainly needs to be in the 'hot' setting as the 'phylon definitely needs to get hot enough to become a pliable foam'.
'After you apply heat don't put your fingers on the hot areas until they have cooled down or you could leave an imprint,' Dan posted.
'It's a tedious process, but just be careful of where you put your hands and aim the blow dryer [carefully].'
Previously, FEMAIL reported on a Twitter user's simple trick for cleaning up dirty suede shoes (pictured before and after)
'Micellar water has just took all the stains out my suede heels,' user Kiera O'Hagan posted on her Twitter profile, alongside four photos of her high-heeled shoes before and after (pictured)
Since he posted hack, thousands have tried the trick - with successful results.
'Sh*t like this is why I love Reddit,' one person posted.
'For it to work really well you're going to have to do this about 3-5 times on each spot. Wave the hair dryer back and forth a little so you don't overheat a singular point of the shoe,' another person offered as a tip.
A further user suggested another trick: 'Use a damp towel over the creased area and then iron over it. I used to do this with Roshes WAY back,' they wrote.
Explaining how she cleaned her shoes, Kiera said that she simply applied some micellar water to a cotton pad and rubbed at the stains before leaving to dry (pictured before and after)
FEMAIL has previously reported on a Twitter user's simple trick for cleaning up dirty suede shoes.
'Micellar water has just took all the stains out my suede heels,' user Kiera O'Hagan posted on her Twitter profile earlier this year, alongside four photos of her high-heeled shoes before and after.
'Everyone needs to try this,' she wrote.
Kiera said she simply applied some micellar water to a cotton pad and rubbed at the stains before leaving to dry.
She used the popular Garnier micellar water, which retails for just $13.99 for 400ml.
Kiera added that the trick also works on suede trainers, while another user posted a before-and-after snap of their Vans trainers which had been cleared up hugely by using the product.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.
Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
