«Breaking News» Katie Price spends £10k to clean up messy home after avoiding bankruptcy

She was left red-faced in November after revealing her home is still a mess - 10 months after she was first criticised over its untidiness.

And after avoiding bankruptcy, Katie Price is turning her attention to her messy mansion and wants to embark on a huge clean-up mission in a bid to make a 'fresh start' for 2019.

According to The Sun, the mother-of-five, 40, has splashed out over £10,000 on re-vamping her home to 'make it perfect again'.

Sources told the publication: 'Katie wants next year to be a completely fresh start and she’s starting with her house.'

They detailed how the former glamour model has spent £10,000 'if not more' on restoring her home to a cleaner state, with Katie 'having new wallpaper throughout' and picking out new furniture to give her abode a 'fresh feel'.

Insiders added: 'Katie knows she let the house go over the past few months but now she’s working hard at getting back on top of her game, and having the mansion looking good again will help.'

In recent months, Katie has been plagued by financial woes and had been battling bankruptcy, following a downward spiral that saw her seek treatment at The Priory.

At the beginning of December, Katie avoided bankruptcy after coming to an agreement over her tax bill and a close pal allegedly loaned the star £22,000 to bail her out.

Earlier this month, the High Court was told that the petition to make her bankrupt had been dismissed.

Katie's case was heard at a specialist insolvency and companies court in Central London, which estimated her total debts ranged from £250,000 to £500,000.

She was not at the court for the hearing, which lasted less than two minutes.

Deputy Insolvency and Companies Court Judge Middleton said: 'This case has been dismissed after the parties concerned reached an out of court agreement.

Court costs of £881 are to be paid in accordance with the terms of the IVO (Individual Voluntary Agreement).'

Outside court, a spokesman for HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) added: 'We are not the lead creditors in this case, but we are happy with the agreement. I can't tell you who the other creditors are in this case at the minute.

'We don't have a specific date for the first payment and the amount has not been decided. Katie Price was not obliged to turn up to this court hearing today.'

In August, Price was given 12 weeks to come up with a payment plan to pay her £22,000 tax bill. Speaking after the August hearing, her representative said: 'Katie is aware of the hearing and is working with her advisers to resolve her current financial issues.

'She hopes to be in a position to do so and reach agreement with her creditors.'

In October she got a stay of execution on whether she has to declare bankruptcy or not whilst the taxman assesses her plan for entering the IVA.

A decision had been due then but she was given an extension. The IVA is a formal agreement which allows people to pay back creditors at an affordable rate.

If HMRC did not accept her proposal then she would have been declared bankrupt, made insolvent and a trustee would have been appointed to sell off her assets to raise capital for the creditors.

Speaking on the Christmas special of her reality series My Crazy Life, Katie revealed the news she is not going bankrupt to her pals, telling the cameras: 'All this stuff about the bankruptcy, I had my call today and guess what? I'm not going bankrupt so I'm starting a new year. New beginnings, new year, no bankruptcy.'

Candidly discussing the difficult year she has faced, the star said: 'I have been battered. It's like everyone is obsessed with it, cos they see me as this big businesswoman, made s**t-loads of money and as soon as the word bankrupt hits anyone, everyone's like "oh my god".

'I've been battered hard, it's been difficult mentally to cope with the battering I've had but guess what, I've had the news today and (shouting) I'm not going bankrupt!'

With her financial worries settled, Katie is now turning her attentions to her house after previously revealing its poor state on an earlier episode of her Quest Red series.

The former Loose Women star was seen venting her frustration over the state of her mansion - revealing it had been strewn with rubbish and broken toys and has smashed windows.

Katie admitted she hasn't kept on top of keeping her home in order, explaining to viewers: 'With the traumatic events that have happened over the summer, I've just let everything go and the poor Pricey mansion is one of them.

'My house is a bit of a reflection of my life, it was all sorted and now it's gone t*ts up again,' she says, before revealing how cluttered her kitchen drawers have become and adding 'Look, unnecessary crap that builds up.'

As the camera panned around Katie's home, it revealed a smashed window, piles of toys strewn over a pool table, broken toys in the garden, clutter-filled drawers and a broken sink in her kitchen.

In July, Katie's home was in need of an epic tidy in scenes that aired on her reality series, with her mother Amy criticising Katie and her home cleaning efforts in August.

Following her split from husband Kieran Hayler, Katie appeared to go on a mass cleaning frenzy to tidy up her home, with her mum Amy encouraging her to de-clutter her abode.

Speaking about Katie's pad, Amy said: 'What can I say? She has got to start throwing stuff out because it looks like a pig sty. She is just ridiculous.

'She actually doesn't throw things out, she just keeps moving things around to make it look like I think she's doing something when I know she's not. So really she's just sorted it in piles, but it's still there.'

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
