«Breaking News» Gemma Collins set to be the 'dark horse' of Dancing On Ice

Gemma Collins has hinted that she could be 'the dark horse' of Dancing On Ice, as she vows to 'prove people wrong' with her skating skills.

Speaking at the show's launch, the 37-year-old TOWIE star told MailOnline she wants to win over viewers with her hard work on the ice, adding that taking part of the show is one of the best thing she's ever done.

It comes after Gemma vowed to become the next Jayne Torvill by being crowned the series winner when she makes her debut on the ice in January, saying she 'doesn't want to take part she wants to take over.'

She said: 'It's been really hard like possibly the hardest thing any of us I've ever done. Mentally and physically tiring but it's been amazing.'

After revealing she's cried during training with pro Matt Evers, the Celebrity Big Brother star added: 'Just because you want to do it, I've been doing two hours a day. It's been amazing.'

When asked whether she could be the 'dark horse' of the competition, Gemma confidently responded: 'Probably!'

'To be honest it's all good TV, this is what it's about the GC's about the drama, I'm gonna prove a lot of people wrong and that's the thing I can't wait for. 

'Am I ready hell yes I'm ready! I've got a fighting spirit in this show, everyone is doing so well, unless you can put a pair of skates on, you need to go through the motions to know but it's been really good.'

The outspoken star added that she also didn't fear the acid-tongued critiques of Mr Nasty judge Jason Gardiner, explaining: 'I've got Jason right where I want him, Jason is gonna be saying all the comments, but obviously if he starts saying something about me, it's all pantomime.'

Gemma also touched on how close she had grown to the other celebrities taking part in the show, adding that they had a secret Whatsapp group.

She said: 'We've all bonded, we've all been through an experience together, I'd be pleased for anyone to win this show, all of us have worked exceptionally hard to get to this point. 

'We're all juggling our own lives as well. I've been doing a lot of work we've got families.

'If there was a b***** atmosphere, there's no need for that all of us are appreciated the struggle, we're going to do our best that's it.'

Fans will get to see Gemma's long-awaited debut on the ice in January, when she joins the eleven other celebrities showing off their skating skills.

Dancing On Ice continues on Sunday 6th January at 6pm on ITV.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
