«Breaking News» Ex-Knick Mark Jackson's basketball card reportedly features infamous Menendez brothers

A former Knicks point guard's baseball card appears to feature a pair of siblings notorious for the high-profile murder of their parents in Beverly Hills, California.

Mark Jackson's Hoops card, from the 1990-91 season, has gone viral after a social media user spotted the infamous Menendez brothers sitting courtside in the photo.

'Reddit is mostly bad but the other day I learned on that website that the Menendez Brothers are in the background of this basketball card,' tweeted John Rosenberger.

'Logistically this would be between when they killed their parents and when they were arrested and I cannot stop thinking about it.'

The photo used in the card may very well correspond with the time between when the murders took place and the arrest of the two brothers as Jackson sported the knee brace during the 1989-1990 season, Beckett, a collectibles publication, reported.

Jose and Kitty Menendez were killed in the den of their homes by the Lyle and Erik carrying shotguns on August 20, 1989, but the brothers would not be arrested until March of the following year.

Beckett does point out that while the resemblance is striking, without a confirmation from the siblings themselves, it would be difficult to be absolutely certain the murderous pair were in attendance at Madison Square Garden in 1989.

The possibility that the notorious murderers are pictured, however, is raising the value of the macabre memorabilia on eBay, from what would normally be pennies to bids as high as $35.

Lyle and Erik Menendez would go on to be tried in a heavily sensationalized trial in 1993, covered extensively on Court TV, where they would claim sexual abuse as a defense. The cases against both men would end in deadlocked juries.

Eventually, they would be convicted in a retrial in 1996, and are currently serving life sentences without the possibility of parole.

Mark Jackson was a popular player in his first five seasons with the New York Knicks, especially as a member of the three-point shooting 'Bomb Squad' team in 1988, and he would play seven seasons total with the team. The point guard also played 10 other seasons with six teams before coaching for several years in the NBA as well.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
