An ex-police officer who had sex sessions with another PC on the job and sent her explicit messages using work emails has been found guilty of gross misconduct.
PC Harry Burgess had sexual activity with fellow officer PC Laura Welsh at their police station in Essex, a hearing was told.
He also sent her sexually explicit messages via WhatsApp, text message and even used his office email.
The officer would have been sacked if he had not already resigned from the force. Welsh was given a warning but allowed to keep her job.
The evidence was uncovered at an Essex Police misconduct hearing, held on Monday at Chelmsford's Civic Centre.

Chief Superintendent Tracey Harman, who sat on the disciplinary panel, slammed Burgess for putting his sexual urges ahead of his commitment to the force.
She said: 'Former PC Harry Burgess acted in a way that goes against what we expect of our officers.

'He took advantage of a situation with another officer to satisfy his own urges and did so while he was meant to be serving and protecting the people of Essex.
At the same hearing PC Welsh was given a written warning after she was found to have also breached the standards of professional behaviour.
Chief Superintendent Harman added: 'For PC Welsh's part, I hope she uses this as a learning opportunity for future behaviour.'
In a statement Essex Police said: 'Former PC Burgess was found to have exchanged personal and sexually suggestive messages to another officer, while on duty via WhatsApp, text message, and the Essex Police email system between January 19 and June 8, 2016.
'It was also found he had engaged in sexual activity at a police station during the same period.'

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.
Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
