«Breaking News» 'Cheerful and happy' binman, 59, is crushed to death by his lorry

A 'cheerful and happy' binman was killed by his lorry in an horrific accident during his team's morning rounds.

Father-of-five Paul Abbott, 59, was collecting waste in Northolt, north-west London on Tuesday when he was hit by the lorry.

He reportedly died a hero after pushing a colleague out of the way of the vehicle before he was struck. The cause of the accident will be addressed in an inquest.

Shattered friends tonight told MailOnline Mr Abbott was a 'hard worker who loved his family with all his heart.'

Simon Scott, a former colleague, said: 'He was such a top lad, a cheerful and happy chap who loved his job. May you rest in peace.'

A spokesman for the Metropolitan Police said officers were appealing for any witnesses to the incident to contact them.

'Police were called to Priors Field, Northolt at 7.27am on Tuesday following reports of a collision,' the spokesman said.

'Officers and crews from the London Ambulance Service attended and found a refuse lorry had been in collision with Mr Abbott, one of the lorry crew.

'Mr Abbott was treated at the scene by paramedics but died in an ambulance on the way to hospital. A post mortem examination is due to take place later.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
