«Breaking News» Boris Becker and his estranged wife Lilly arrive at court for latest stage of divorce fight

German tennis star Boris Becker and his ex-wife have called a truce over who will divorce who, a family court has heard today.

Becker, 51, announced he and Dutch-born Sharley, known as Lilly, had separated after 13 years together in May this year.

A hearing in October heard both had accused the other of 'unreasonable behaviour' and both issued divorce petitions.

It was Lilly who put in the first petition on May 9 and Boris put his petition in nearly three weeks later on May 29.

Judge Sarah Gibbons said today the pair have now agreed not to make any argument opposing each other's divorce petitions.

They will instead jointly invite the court to dissolve their marriage and allow their petitions to go 'undefended'.

The couple both attended court but did not speak during the short hearing.

Judge Gibbons said: 'Insofar as the main suit is concerned that has been compromised.

'One of the issues that could be reported by the press was the fact both parties issued petitions citing unreasonable behaviour. It can now be reported that they have agreed.'

No details of the agreement was heard in court.

The hearing concerns the parties finances and follows an application by Lilly for financial remedy.

The next hearing - known as a financial dispute resolution hearing - will be held in private on March 1.

Three-time Wimbledon champ Becker was declared bankrupt in 2017 - which led to a bid by his legal team claiming he had diplomatic immunity from the financial proceedings.

He was appointed attache to the European Union on sporting, cultural and humanitarian affairs by the Central African Republic in April.

His lawyers said in June that the position was covered by the 1961 Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations and meant he could not be subjected to any legal proceedings - without the consent of Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson and his counterpart in Bangui.

But the application to discharge the bankruptcy was put on hold so the matter could be investigated further.

Becker had to pay his previous wife, actress and designer Barbara Feltus, £11million when they divorced in 2001 after an eight-year marriage. He also had to give Barbara their Florida apartment.

At 17-years-old, Becker became the youngest ever men's singles champion at Wimbledon in 1985. He won it again in 1986 and 1989.

He collected 49 singles titles including six Grand Slam trophies in a career spanning more than two decades, retiring in 1999.

Becker was declared bankrupt last year when it emerged he had racked up a debt of £3.3million with a private bank.

He was then involved in a bizarre row over whether a diplomatic passport he had been issued by the Central African Republic entitled him to immunity from bankruptcy proceedings.

A judge analysing issues relating to the division of assets oversaw a private hearing at the Central Family Court in London in early October. Becker was not at that hearing but Mrs Becker was in court.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
