«Breaking News» Woman tipped to be next German chancellor begs UK to stay in EU, 'our friends who go to the pub'

The woman tipped to become Germany’s next chancellor has appealed for Britain to stay in the EU, calling it Britain’s ‘home’.

Annegret Kramp-Karrenbauer became leader of Angela Merkel’s Christian Democratic Union (CDU) last month.

Last night, she became the most senior German politician to plead for the UK to cancel Brexit in an ‘unprecedented’ cross-party campaign.

Mrs Kramp-Karrenbauer, also known by her initials AKK, was joined by more than two dozen German politicians, artists and heads of industry in her plea.

In a letter to The Times, the group begged Britain ‘from the bottom of our hearts’ to remain in the EU. It marks a shift to a warmer, less obstinate tone from Berlin.

The letter states the two countries have a special relationship thanks to Britain’s vital role in rebuilding Germany after the Second World War.

The letter reads: ‘Without your great nation, this continent would not be what it is today: a community defined by freedom and prosperity.

‘Should Britain wish to leave the European Union for good, it will always have friends in Germany and Europe.

But the group was at pains to tell Britain ‘we believe no choice is irreversible’ and ‘our door will always remain open’ as ‘Europe is home’.

It states: ‘We would miss the legendary British black humour and going to the pub after work hours to drink an ale.

‘We would miss tea with milk and driving on the left-hand side of the road. And we would miss seeing the panto at Christmas.

‘But, more than anything else, we would miss the British people - our friends across the Channel.

‘We would miss Britain as part of the European Union, especially in these troubled times. Therefore Britain should know: from the bottom of our hearts, we want them to stay.’

The letter was co-signed by Andrea Nahles, leader of the Social Democrats, the coalition partners of Mrs Merkel’s CDU.

The news comes after Social Democrat Katarina Barley, Mrs Merkel’s justice minister, yesterday proposed a second referendum with the option to abandon Brexit.

Mrs Barley, whose father is British, said she respects the will of the British people. However, she said the first referendum was on the idea of Brexit while a second one would be on the draft exit deal with the EU.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
