«Breaking News» NTAs 2019: Michelle Keegan and Holly Willoughby dazzle on red carpet

Stars of the silver screen put on a dazzling display as they arrived at the 2019 National Television Awards at London's O2 Arena on Tuesday.

Holly Willoughby, Susanna Reid, Michelle Keegan, Rochelle Humes, Emily Atack, Jack Fincham, Dani Dyer and Sarah-Jayne Dunn were among the celebrities attending the biggest night in the TV calendar, as they posed up on the red carpet.

Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly claimed the award for Best TV Entertainment Presenter for the 18th time, despite Ant’s well documented absence from TV for much of the year - while Bodyguard was the other big winner, scooping Best New Drama and Best Drama performance for star Richard Madden.

This Morning host Holly, 37, looked sensational in a semi-sheer polka dot ballgown, which flared into a dramatic tulle skirt.

The clinging bodice, adorned with a fabric rose, showcased the star's toned frame and cinched in at her slender waist.

A floor length skirt teased a glimpse of her toned legs as she wowed on the red carpet.

Her blonde tresses were pulled back into a stylish chignon, while her pretty features were enhanced with feline flicks of liner, metallic shadow, and a slick of rose gloss.

Her pretty pink gown was by Iris Serban, a luxury label loved by the likes of Amanda Holden, Nicole Scherzinger and Gwen Stefani, and we can see why!

Holly’s gown featured a fitted bodice with spaghetti straps, floral applique and a cinched waist, which fell to the floor in a glamorous sweep. With the addition of a contrast polka dot print, this dress was the perfect blend of playful femininity.

Although her shoes were hidden under the lengthy dress, Scarlett kept her accessories to a minimum for the occasion, opting for just a pair of simple silver stud earrings.

After posting a slew of snaps of her outfit on social media, Scarlett defiantly told fans they could wear whatever they wished, writing in the caption: 'What type of body shape suits a gown ladies? ANY body shape!!'

Highlighting her tanned complexion, Scarlett went for a heavy and dramatic bronzed smoky eye for the grand occasion, and along with defined nude lip and matching brows, looked stunning for the star-studded occasion.

Opting for a form-fitting black gown, Ferne, 28, showed off her legs by virtue of a daring thigh-high slash that left little to the imagination as she sashayed across the red carpet.

Greeting onlookers at the event, she even appeared to echo the notoriously awkward looking leg pose adopted by Angelina Jolie at the 84th annual Academy Awards in 2012.

But wildly contrasting careers meant any comparison to Hollywood’s most celebrated actress stopped there, with the TV personality making an appearance at the event after promoting her new fitness DVD, Fit As Ferne.

She added to her look with a tasteful black clutch, while statement earrings and matching strappy heels rounded things off.

Charlotte Crosby scrubbed up well when she put on a very fashionable display with her beau Joshua Ritchie in tow at the NTAs.

Rid of her scanty ensembles, the 28-year-old Geordie Shore star made her legs appear long in a thigh-split lilac dress and a pair of silver steep stilettos.

Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly claimed the award for Best TV Entertainment Presenter at the National Television Awards on Tuesday evening, despite Ant’s well documented absence from TV for much of the year.

The hugely popular presenting duo beat Bradley Walsh, Graham Norton, Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby to the coveted prize as the winner was announced in front of a star-studded audience at London’s O2 Arena.

By a cruel twist of fate This Morning co-host Holly lost out after successfully stepping in for Ant during their latest series of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!

However Ant and Dec – who won the award after receiving their 18th consecutive nomination – were unable to collect the award in person due to a scheduling conflict with the forthcoming series of Britain’s Got Talent.

Accepting their prize via. link from the Britain's Got Talent auditions, Ant admitted he 'didn't really feel he could accept' the award, and went on to praise his presenting partner Dec for holding down the fort during his break.

He said: 'This is a genuine shock especially this year I'm shaking we want to say thank you to everybody, I really don't feel like I can accept it, the one reason we won this award was this guy, his wit his determination, I love you pal.

Dec then added: 'Thank you so much to everybody who sent kind and thoughtful they kept me going while I was flying the flag for the two of us.

'But this year more than ever thank you to all of you who picked up the phone and voted to us. Special shout out to Dermot for saying he'd throw in the towel if we won, so happy retirement Dermot!'

Auditions for the long-running talent show kicked off at London Palladium in January, with Ant returning to work seven months after his second spell in residential rehabilitation, where he received treatment for substance and alcohol abuse issues.

The presenter has spent much of the year focussing on his recovery, resulting in close friend Dec hosting the final episodes of Saturday Night Takeaway – including a live finale shot on location in Florida – alone.

This came after This Morning also continued their record-breaking run, winning Best Daytime for the ninth time in a row.

In their speech Phil said: 'We never take it for granted we love our family our This Morning family, the viewers that watch it are our family,' and turning to Holly he added: 'And I absolutely adore working with you.'

Holly then said: 'I am a very very lucky lady to have you in my life every single day. This is a special year it's 30 years and still you vote and you enjoy the show means everything to us, without you this show would not be possible.'

It now remains to be seen whether the duo will once again present Wednesday's This Morning in a hungover state, as they have in previous years to the delight of viewers.

It proved a night of celebration for Holly as I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here scooped the Bruce Forsyth Entertainment Award, and due to Ant and Dec's absence she accepted the award along with this year's stars.

Before this the stars of Bodyguard took to the stage for Best New Drama, and as the cast took to the stage they thanked showrunner Jed Mercurio - who was unable to attend - alongside the show's lead Richard Madden and his co-star Keeley Hawes.

The wins continued for Bodyguard as Richard Madden also won Best Drama Performance, and was left speechless with the deafening cheers as he accepted the prize.

After This Morning's honour, the next prize was for Best Soap Newcomer, which in a historical moment was given to Emmerdale's James Moore, who received a piggyback to the stage.

The show then descended into chaos as David Walliams was awarded Best TV Judge for the third time, and as the camera cut to the Britain's Got Talent auditions in London, he was piled on by his fellow judges.

Up next was Best Comedy which was awarded to Peter's Kay Car Share, and though the titular star was unable to attend the ceremony his co-star Sian Gibson paid a touching tribute.

Thanking the shows large crew and the volunteers at Battersea Dogs Home, the veteran presenter also gave thanks to the dogs 'for allowing us to film them.'

After a hilarious skit featuring Dermot's frantic journey to the ceremony - with the help of Bodyguard's David Budd - the show opened with an appropriately 'fabulous' performance from John Barrowman.

The National Television Awards mark one of the most exciting nights in British TV, with faces from reality, scripted drama and comedy, soaps and quiz shows hoping to scoop a gong.

Held at London's O2, 2019's shortlist sees the likes of Killing Eve, Bodyguard and The Cry battle it out as some of the most talked-about new shows of the past 12 months

Holly Willoughby, Susanna Reid, Michelle Keegan, Rochelle Humes, Emily Atack, Jack Fincham, Dani Dyer and Sarah-Jayne Dunn were among the celebrities...

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
