«Breaking News» Illinois cops place Frozen character in pink handcuffs as temperatures plunge

Police in Illinois say they have arrested Elsa from Disney's Frozen due to the freezing weather, but some were not impressed with pictures.

The cops in McLean County - where temperatures are currently -29C - posted snaps of an actress dressed up as Elsa being hauled into a police car.

But observant Facebook users noticed that the pictures they had used in their post were actually taken from a police force in South Carolina who had pulled the stunt in 2015.

McLean County Police wrote in a Facebook post: 'ATTENTION: Due to the EXTREME COLD weather, all criminal activity and acts of stupidity and foolishness has been cancelled.

'Even Elsa has been placed under arrest with NO BOND until further notice. Thank you for your attention and understanding to this matter. Respectfully, the McLean Police Dept.'

The police department is yet to respond to the claims they have stolen the images in their Facebook post.

Some users made mention of the fact they could be prosecuted for using the professional photos without permission, while others said it was just a bit of fun.

McLean police made the post as a deadly arctic deep freeze enveloped the Midwest with record-breaking temperatures Wednesday, triggering widespread closures of schools and businesses, and prompting the US Postal Service the rare decision to suspend deliveries.

The bitter cold is the result of a split in the polar vortex that allowed temperatures to plunge much further south than normal.

Governors in Illinois, Wisconsin and Michigan declared emergencies as the worst of the cold threatened on Wednesday.

At least four deaths were linked to the weather system on Tuesday, including a man struck and killed by a snow plow in the Chicago area, a young couple whose SUV struck another on a snowy road in northern Indiana and a Milwaukee man found frozen to death in a garage.

The cold is attributed to a sudden warming far above the North Pole.

A blast of warm air from misplaced Moroccan heat last month made the normally super chilly air temperatures above the North Pole rapidly increase.

That split the polar vortex into pieces, which then started to wander, said Judah Cohen, a winter storm expert for Atmospheric Environmental Research.

One of those polar vortex pieces is responsible for the subzero temperatures across the Midwest this week.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
