This is the hilarious moment a hungry squirrel is caught eating a Chinese egg roll up a tree in New York.

The funny footage captured the chunky critter eagerly chewing down on the snack, which it is holding between its paws.

It was posted online by Twitter user What is New York? who wrote: 'Doesn’t look like this squirrels first egg roll.'

Others were also quick to point out how large the animal was, with one writing: 'Look how fat that squirrel is.'

Another added: 'He'll be hungry again in an hour.' 

The rodent was captured eagerly chewing down on the snack up a tree in New York 

The clip has since been retweeted hundreds of times and liked more than a thousand.

Twitter users saw the funny side of the the video, with one saying the squirrel was just missing the soy sauce. 

Another joked 'there's nothing you can't do in' New York, referencing the Jay-Z and Alicia Keys song Empire State of Mind.

It was posted online by Twitter user What is New York? and has since gone viral 

People joked online after the footage showed the squirrel enjoying a fast food snack 

Others were scared it might have been eating a toe or a finger when they first saw the clip 

Twitter users also pointed out how fat the squirrel appeared 

But others were just relieved to find out it was an egg roll after initially believing it to be a finger or a toe.

One person wrote: 'Am I the only one who thought it was a toe at first??'

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
