An anemic and dehydrated cat suffering from mange, pleasantly surprised his rescuer by showing off his stunning eyes – one blue, one hazel - months after being taken in.
Friendly feline Cotton was discovered in Royal Palm Beach, Florida by a man who noticed the animal was very hungry when feeding his own pet at the time.
After caging the parasite infested cat posting a notice, Carmen Weinberg arrived to collect him the following day but it took a long time for the sick cat to relax in her care and open his eyes.
Cotton the cat made a big transformation months after being rescued from the streets
Cotton was found by a man on September 12, 2016 in Royal Palm Beach, Florida
'We thought he was blind, and that he would be blind forever, 'Carmen explained to The Dodo this week. 'The vet thought that even when his eyes recovered they might be damaged, but they weren't. It was such a wonderful surprise. His eyes were just beautiful.'
She described on her Facebook page how the Cotton got Ivermectin, fluids, an antibiotic and ointment for his jammed-shut eyes and started enjoying small meals, various times a day while in quarantine in her bathroom.
With the help of a friend, the cat-lover got a creature that was already recovering in the room adopted by someone else.
A man said it came out of nowhere and started eating from a bowl of food he was giving his cat
He posted for help, and Carmen Weinberg picked up the cat the next day
Carmen fed the animal to nurse it back to health but Cotton wouldn't open his eyes
'He couldn't even see or open his eyes because the mites were so bad,' she said. 'It must have been so scary for him out there not being able to see. He was all alone and so skinny because he couldn't find food.'
After working to bond with the stray, including giving it medicated shampoo baths and treating its matted fur with 'coconut oil over crusty stuff', Cotton started to open his eyes and show off a healthy coat of white.
Carmen also shared how Cotton started taking fluids and eating wet foods every two to three hours after much recovery.

Eventually, scabs fell off and revealed irritated ears that turned out to be light pink.
Two years after the heart-warming rescue that began September 12, 2016, Carmen – who runs the Animal Friends Project Inc – said she received a lot of applications from people wanting to adopt the fluffy cat but she didn't want to break their bond.
Still they have other animals looking for a new home at her non-for-profit project.

'My husband, son, daughter and sister help a lot and I have a few volunteers and fosters but I do most of the coordinating and work myself since I am the one that visits the low-income areas where most cats live,' she told Bored Panda this week.
'Problem is that I find sick animals every time I visit these communities and it is hard to do things like educating and fundraising while I am tending to the sick cats. Lots of driving around to vet visits.'
'My advice is to please not ignore them. Anyone can help animals. Many sick stray cats are friendly and it is very easy to put them in a crate and take them to a vet. People can fundraise to pay for medical care. At least take photos and start asking for help.'

Carmen kept the cat despite lots of people applying to adopt it once it got healthy

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.
Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
