«Breaking News» PICTURED: The out-of-control husky that viciously mauled a babysitter

This is the out-of-control dog which savaged a 38-year-old babysitter and was later shot dead by armed police following the attack.

The husky, known as Storm, was shot by police officers after they discovered the seriously injured woman and felt they had 'no other choice'.

Emergency services were called at around 1.30am today after the victim was viciously mauled at a house in Rednal, Birmingham.

The woman suffered multiple injuries and was rushed to hospital, where she is described as being in a serious but stable condition.

West Midlands Police said armed officers arrived at the property on the residential cul-de-sac but were forced to shoot the dog dead.

The dog owner's father told BirminghamLive she had come to watch the children as a babysitter while his daughter had a rare night out.

He said the eight-year-old Husky, who the family had owned since he was a puppy, was locked away in the kitchen when the woman arrived to babysit.

The grandfather said: 'She had locked him away behind double doors - which close themselves - in the kitchen.

'But somehow he got out, even though it was only three of them in the house and the kids were upstairs asleep.

'He jumped straight for her face and she fell to the floor, he got hold of her arm and there was a struggle.

'The kids were in bed and heard her screaming so rushed down to help her. They managed to get him off her and put him away in the kitchen.

'I used to walk the dog every two days, three-and-a-half miles as I know young families are busy. We are all upset.'

The dog had only ever once shown aggression towards people, he added. He said the family was 'always cautious' and never introduced the dog to anyone new.

'We've always been very cautious and never introduced any strangers to the dog,' he said.

'They're pack animals, they will protect the family furiously.'

A nearby resident said the incident was the 'most horrific' thing she had ever heard.

She wrote on a community group: 'Can someone please confirm the early hours of this morning wasn't a dream? Gunshots, police in a house..?

'This morning there's nothing, like it never happened. Was the most horrific thing I have ever heard in my life.'

Another added: 'Was few doors down from me, someone taken off in an ambulance, loads of police. A third resident told how she saw at least five officers armed with guns.

She said: 'A lot of police presence for that surely? I counted at least five armed police.'

A neighbour said that the dog was 'brilliant' and doesn't think that the police needed to shoot it and could have taken it to the vets instead, reports the Sun.

They said: 'They shot it once and obviously it started howling. It was disgusting. I don't think I'll ever forget the sound.

'It made me sick to my stomach, I nearly cried my eyes out. '

'We don't know about the woman's injuries we didn't really see much.'

A force spokeswoman said: 'Police received a call at around 1.45am this morning from ambulance colleagues following reports that a dog had attacked a woman.

'A 38-year-old woman was taken to hospital in a serious but stable condition.

'Officers attended the address and due to the circumstances they were faced with had no choice but to put the dog down.

'The owner of the dog is assisting police with their enquiries.'

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: 'We were called at 1.34am this morning to Rise Avenue.

'We sent two ambulances and treated a woman for multiple injuries, not believed to be life-threatening.

'She was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital for further treatment.'

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
