«Breaking News» Car carrier catches fire in the Pacific Ocean leading four crew members to abandon ship

A Panamanian car carrier traveling from Japan to Hawaii suddenly caught fire in the middle the Pacific Ocean, leading crew members to abandon ship on Monday. 

The fire broke out on the ship the Sincerity Ace on New Years Eve at 1:04am Hawaii time, leading the Coast Guard and several commercial ships to rush to its aid about 2,000 miles off Oahu.

The Coast Guard said that the 'significant vessel fire' was so bad crew members were planning to abandon ship.  

Of the 21 crew members aboard the 650-foot ship, four were able to safely get on a life raft and abandon the vessel.

The 17 remaining crew members stayed on board to fight the fire, according to the Coast Guard.  

The ship the Green Lake, a 655-foot U.S. car carrier arrived to the scene to help tackle the flames. The Coast Guard HC-130 Hercules aircrew also sailed to the Sincerity Ace's aid.   

Rescuers are facing menacing 17-foot waves and 27mph winds. 

The Coast Guard has not shared what exactly caused the fire on the Sincerity Ace, which was built in 2009, according to Hawaii News Now.

'The distance involved here requires any and all available support, we thank the crews of the commercial vessels for volunteering to assist and have Coast Guard air support en route,' Petty Officer 1st Class Les Elliott said in the statement.

'We are thankful no injuries have been reported but are cognizant a lot is happening, and that may change at any time,' Petty Officer added.  

The Coast Guard said the U.S. Navy will also help with search efforts.

A Coast Guard spokesman in Honolulu said it was unknown how many cars the ship is carrying.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
