«Breaking News» Netflix releases first trailer for Medici: The Magnificent starring Sean Bean

It's the historical drama is based on the Medici family's rise to Renaissance power in Florence.


And Netflix has now offered a first look at its new period drama series, Medici: The Magnificent, which is a follow up from the 2016's Medici: Masters of Florence, starring Richard Madden. 


Starring Sean Bean, the anthology series picks up 20 years after the first season and chronicles the journey of Lorenzo the Magnificent's son Lorenzo (Daniel Sharman) taking leadership of the family run bank in 15th Century Florence.

The brand new trailer provides an exhilarating look at Lorenzo the Magnificent, the most powerful and historical figures of all time, and his son's journey to resume leadership.  


Once he finds himself in power, young Lorenzo is nicknamed The Magnificent as he attempts to do things differently. 

His variation in tactics leads him into conflict with Jacopo Pazzi (Bean), who is the head of Florence’s other powerful banking family.


Sean's character will stop at nothing to defeat Lorenzo The Magnificent, and their feud paves way to the infamous Pazzi conspiracy.

The conspiracy was a plot by members of the Pazzi family and others to displace the de' Medici family to become rulers as of Renaissance Florence.


Sean and Daniel join the likes of Sarah Parish, Bradley James, Alessandra Mastronardi, Synnøve Karslen, Raoul Bova and Julian Sands.


Direction of the eight episodes has been divided by 24 director Jon Cassar and Jan Maria Michelini, who helmed Medici: Masters of Florence. 


Frank Spotnitz (The X-Files, The Man in the High) is executive-producing alongside CEO of Lux Vide, Luca Bernabei.

The first series was a historical drama is based on the Medici family's rise to power in Florence, with Dustin Hoffman portraying the founder of the trade and banking dynasty, Giovanni.


The show bought alive the story of Giovanni and his son Cosimo's (Madden) rise to the very centre of Renaissance power and politics as the heads of the influential Medici banking empire.


The series will launch on Netflix in the U.S. and the UK territories on the Friday 25th January 2019.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
