«Breaking News» Boy band dubbed The Breunion Boys release song called Britain Come Back

A new boy band dubbed the Breunion Boys has been formed in a 'desperate' bid to change the mind of people who voted to leave the European Union.

The band, who have released a single called Britain Come Back, were brought together by a Dutch artist who plans to take them on a tour of pubs in the UK, although they have not yet booked a single gig.

Mastermind Julia Veldman hopes that the emotion of the song will sway Brexiteers into rethinking their decision, because she believes the initial vote was a passionate one. 

She told CNN that responding with facts would not help to persuade those that voted leave because it was an emotional decision, not a calculated one.

Ms Velman added that she wants them to look at Brexiteers who 'dumped them' (the EU) in the eye and have a serious conversation.

The music video for the songs involves the band showing off their dance moves on a Dutch beach while singing along to the remain anthem.

The lyrics to the track include: 'I cannot believe this is the end (oh no); I still feel your love inside me; I still sing your words,' they sing in the video, which was filmed earlier in December.

'Your voice paints my heart; your mirage fades away. Your choice turns my spine gray. There's always been a sea between us, we used to sail it together -- but you're leaving, now we're falling apart,' the band sings.

'Britain, come back to us, it is not too late to turn around.'

Band member Joshua Alagbe, 24, said: 'Look how angry many Brits are towards the EU and how many Europeans are angry towards Britain for leaving. We are kind of an answer to the emotion.'

Ms Velman's search for boy band members took almost a year, as she hunted for singers who would be able to correctly represent the EU.

In the end she decided on three Dutch nationals, one Afghan and one Spaniard. 

She hit back at claims that the group was formed as a joke, arguing that it stood for the millions of people in Europe who want Britain to stay in the EU.

Ms Veldman said forming a boy band was a 'final, desperate, ultimate attempt' to prevent Brexit before the March 29 departure date.

'I thought, what else will work better than the voice of Take That, or a boy band — the best thing Britain ever gave to us — to convince them to take us back?'  

Britain Come Back was written for the Breunion Boys by Flavia Faas, a Dutch song composer, and cost Ms Veldman more than $13,000 out of her own pocket.

The track doesn't gloss over Britain's bumpy relationship with the EU and blames Brussels for failing to fully appreciate its EU partner.   

She said she wanted the boys to look like they were from the 1990s because back then in the 'glory days' it felt like Britain's future was in Europe.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
