X Factor judge Simon Cowell made a very sly dig at I'm A Celeb's Fleur East during the singing competition's final on Saturday night.

The music mogul, 59, was giving criticism to his mentee Scarlett Lee, when he told her: 'I don't want you in the jungle in two years time drinking worm juice.'

Simon, who is renowned for his brutal honesty, cuttingly added: 'I want you on Broadway or on the West End selling records. You've got prepare for your duet.'

Fleur, 31, is now competing in the jungle and first appeared on the X Factor in 2005 as part of the girl group Addictiv Ladies, who were the first to be eliminated in the live shows series two. 

She then launched a solo music career in 2012, before returning to the show in 2014 where she was runner-up to the show's winner Ben Haenow.

At the time, Fleur was mentored by Simon in the Over 25s group, and in the semi-final she wowed with her rendition of Bruno Mars' Uptown Funk.

Viewers were livid with Simon's comments, as they took to Twitter to vent their frustrations at the music mogul.

Singer Sinitta wrote: '....Not nice! @SimonCowell @FleurEast still performs and loves singing but doesnt have a Record deal! Give her one again maybe? I hope she wins @imacelebrity so the Public remember how lovely she is and how popular she is so you do! #StopBeingShadyStroppyHighPants!' 

Many people agreed with her, as one wrote: 'I don't think she entered the jungle because she failed in any way in her music career?'

Another user added: 'I thought it showed him in a bad light and so insulting to Stacey who was there tonight' 

While one criticised: 'No need for that comment simon... the fact she's on I'm a celebrity is brilliant achievement.'

Stacey Solomon, who appeared on the show to interview the finalists' family members has been on both X Factor and I'm A Celebrity.

The Loose Women panellist, 29, rose to fame when she performed on the sixth season of the singing competition, and came third overall.

She then competed on the endurance-based reality show on the tenth series, and went on to win the show and become the Queen Of The Jungle.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
