Robbie Williams has admitted his three weeks away in South America while on tour damaged his performers' chances of making it all the way on The X Factor.
The TV judge, 44, was away from the ITV reality series while he toured in South America and thinks he was 'delusional' to think he could coach his performers from half way across the world.
The singer's comments come after after Dalton Harris, 24, was crowned winner in Sunday night's final after being mentored to success by Louis Tomlinson.

Simon Cowell's act Scarlett, 21 finished as runner-up and another of Louis' acts, Anthony Russell, 28, came third.
Robbie told how he would have had his act Acacia & Aaliyah, who were eliminated in week six and finished in fourth place, sing different songs if he had been there with them.
He told The Sun: 'Had I been with them maybe I wouldn’t have had them perform Maniac. But from South America it’s difficult to feel the temperature of the performance.
'I watched it in Guadalajara in Mexico thinking, "I wish they hadn’t done that". That’s down to me. My not being there cost them, I think.

'But I’m delusional and think I’m going to win everything, which is how I’ve got this far - delusions.'
However, there's no doubt in Robbie's mind that the duo have a healthy future ahead of them in the music industry and the former Take That star hopes they will want to work with him again.
Some viewers hit out at the final on social media, taking TV bosses to task for pairing Scarlett up with Robbie for the duet.
In previous series, the finalists have taken to the stage with special guest performers rather than members of the judging panel.

Speculating on the decision, one user wrote: 'Do you think they got Robbie to duet with Scarlett after somebody dropped out at the last minute?'
Another wrote: 'No offense to Robbie but I'd be so gutted if I got one of the judges for my duet.'
Another fan was equally confused by the pairing, writing: 'Imagine getting to The X Factor finals and imagining the possibilities of who your duet could be with only to be paired with Robbie...a judge #budgetcuts.'

Show boss Simon Cowell recently admitted there could be another series of Celebrity X Factor in the future.
The show had a one-off celebrity series in 2006 which saw the likes of David Beckham's former PA Rebecca Loos, Gillian McKeith and Nikki Sanderson competing.
Although admitting he wasn't a huge fan of the show, Simon told The Sun's TV Mag he wants to do it again 'for some reason'.
'Celebrity X Factor wasn't one of my favourite shows, but for some reason I do actually want to do it again,' he said.
'I'm hoping we're going to do this soon. I'd like to mentor David Walliams!'

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.
Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
