A heartbroken Connecticut mother is in stable condition after she was attacked by her 12-year-old son who then stabbed his twin sister to death.
Government lobbyist Janemarie Murphy, 56, called police on Monday afternoon after her son launched a stabbing rampage and killed his own sister 12-year-old Brigid Curtin by wounding her in the neck and torso.
The upscale West Hartford neighborhood is now grieving for the loss of the little girl in the 'unspeakable tragedy', with flowers and white ribbons placed near the home where the horrific attack took place.
A vigil for Brigid is set to take place at 5.30pm on Thursday at St. Patrick-St. Anthony's where Murphy, who works at law firm Murtha Cullina, her husband Timothy Curtin, and their kids attended.
Parishioners received an email on Sunday from Reverend Tom Gallagher saying there would be a prayer and healing service for the Murphy Curtin family.

The Reverend hailed the Murphy-Curtins as a 'wonderful family' and said Brigid and her brother were baptized at the church, had their first communion there, and were involved in the parish's religious programs.
Gallagher remembered Brigid as a 'kind, delightful young girl' to the Hartford Courant.
Students at Brigid’s school Sedgwick Middle School where she was in 7th grade wore blue shirts this week to honor her memory with her favorite color.
Students said they drew blue hearts on their hands and arms to remember her.
Flowers have also been laid at the entrance to Stoner Drive, the uphill road in the upscale area where the family live. One bouquet says: 'Rest in Peace. We love you. All of West Hartford'.

Cops flocked to the scene of the two-story, Christmas-decorated home after Murphy called 911 at 3.30pm on Monday.
She called dispatchers 'saying she and her daughter had been stabbed by her son', the West Hartford Police Department said in a statement.
Officers found the two victims and the boy upon arriving to the scene.
The boy, who has remained unnamed, was arraigned to Connecticut Children's Medical Center on a count of murder with special circumstances and first-degree assault, according to officials.
Brigid and her mother were rushed to St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center in Hartford where the child died, according to ABC. The Medical Examiner ruled her death a homicide.
Murphy is listed as in stable condition.
According to her biography on her employer's website she is an 'expert in state and municipal government and public interest negotiations'.
She formerly worked as a legislative assistant to the State Senate Majority Office and Senior Legislative Aide to the Senate President Pro Tempore of the Connecticut General Assembly.
The boy was also injured in the attack. Officials say he's too young to be charged as an adult.

'This is truly an unspeakable tragedy,' family friend Chuck Coursey said at a news conference on Tuesday.
West Hartford Mayor Shari Cantor released the following statement on behalf of the Murphy-Curtin family to Pix11.
'Our family, friends, and community are all suffering tonight. We are all enduring a very painful and unimaginable loss. Our family will never be the same. Our daughter was a beautiful child and we will remember forever her smile…laughter…and remember her for the way she loved and lived. We thank you all for your condolences and prayers,' the statement said.
'Please understand that this loss is not contained to our family. Our children attended West Hartford schools and have so many friends that are hurting tonight as well. West Hartford is a strong community,' it added.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.
Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
