«Breaking News» Saudi TV channel boss 'fired for live-air coverage of music concert'

The head of Saudi Arabia's national television channel has been fired for broadcasting live coverage of a music concert, it has been claimed.

The Majida Al Roumi event, part of the kingdom's Winter at Tantora festival, was aired on Saudi Arabia's government-owned channel last week.

But the station chief was then sacked with sources claiming that officials deemed the concert 'inappropriate to air on the platform.'

According to StepFeed, the broadcast was unexpectedly cut short before the end of the performance with reports of the firing emerging just hours later.

The decision has sparked confusion among social media users in the country, with many unable to say what could possibly have been seen as being 'inappropriate'.

Some speculated that the saga actually related to 'payments and distribution rights' for the broadcast of the event.

One social media user joked: 'It's OK to host it, but not OK to broadcast it!'

In October 2017, Saudi Arabia's powerful Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman pledged a 'moderate, open' Saudi Arabia, breaking with ultra-conservative clerics.

Weeks later, the kingdom lifted a decades-long ban on cinemas

There were also reports that women would be allowed to enter three sports stadiums in the country for the first time.

The exact amount can not say because there are many nuances. It will be necessary to build a small laboratory with certain parameters. To all interested persons please write on an email angocman@gmail.com . It is the scientific project and I do not know whether it is possible to earn on it. The probability of success of the project is approximately 60%. That will be very interesting.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
