«Breaking News» Rock band Bring Me The Horizon left 'horrified' after young fan dies at their gig

A young man died at a Bring Me The Horizon gig, leaving the group 'horrified'.

The metal band, which formed in Sheffield, played at the Alexandra Palace in north London on Friday where a fan lost his life during the show.

The London Ambulance Service were called at 9.48pm and sent an ambulance crew and paramedics to the venue, but the attendee was pronounced dead at the scene.

Bring Me The Horizon released a statement on their Twitter page which read: 'Words cannot express how horrified we are feeling this evening after hearing about the death of a young man at our show last night. 

'Our hearts and deepest condolences go out to his family and loved ones at this terrible time. We will comment further in due course.'

The band, made up of frontman Oli Sykes, bassist Matt Kean, guitarist Lee Malia, drummer Mat Nicholls and keyboardist Jordan Fish, offered their condolences to the young man's family

Alexandra Palace also tweeted that a 'medical incident' had occurred at the BMTH show on November 30, and offered condolences. 

The tweet read: 'A medical incident occurred at last night's Bring Me The Horizon concert. 

'Our thoughts and condolences are with the individual's family and we would like to express our deepest sympathy to them. 

'We hope you can appreciate we cannot provide any further comment at this time.'   

Bring Me The Horizon is made up of frontman Oli Sykes, bassist Matt Kean, guitarist Lee Malia, drummer Mat Nicholls and keyboardist Jordan Fish. 

The group's original members formed as a hardcore death metal or 'deathcore' act in 2004, and its style evolved to become more melodic as the band grew in popularity.

Fans responded to the band's tweet to offer condolences to the deceased's family and support the musical group.

One Twitter user said: 'I know pits are fun but it breaks my heart that people are risking their lives by trying to have fun. I was at the gig in Birmingham and people were coming out with bloody noses and visibly broken bones. This is not what music is about.'

Another said: 'So sad, was at the concert and had no idea, thoughts to family and loved ones, we were all just trying to have a good night out.' 

One post read: 'Oh my god my heart is shattered by this news, [mosh] pits are supposed to be fun but people should be aware of people around them. My deepest condolences go to his family and friends.'

A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: 'We were called at 9.48pm on Friday (November 30) to reports of a person unwell at Alexandra Palace in north London. 

'We sent an ambulance crew, a paramedic in a fast response car, an advanced paramedic and our hazardous area response team to the scene. 

'Our first medic arrived in less than three minutes. 

'Sadly the patient died at the scene.'

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
