«Breaking News» Pets are returned to delighted owners from gangs who snatched them thanks to microchip technology

Their owners feared they might never see them again.

But these three dogs have been reunited with their families years after they were snatched from their homes thanks to microchip technology and the unstinting efforts of charity volunteers.

Bella, Barney and Scampi are among the thousands of dogs stolen every year.

Many enter into a miserable existence at the hands of crooked breeders and sellers.

Bella, an eight-year-old blue roan cocker spaniel, was stolen from a kennel at her family’s farm in October 2015.

She was dumped on the streets three years later having been treated terribly by breeders, riddled with mange and showing signs of having nursed countless litters of puppies.

Luckily for her she was still fitted with a microchip when she was discovered in a country lane in Kent two months ago, miles from her home in Braintree, Essex.

And because owner Francesca Sharp had kept the chip’s details up to date with the Kennel Club it meant that, with the help of missing pets charity DogLost, she could be returned swiftly home.

HR coordinator Miss Sharp, 25, who now lives with her boyfriend in Solihull, West Midlands, said: ‘We never thought we’d find her again. We were overjoyed when we realised she had been found, but she was in a complete state.’

She combed the streets for five years and put up adverts appealing for help. A few months ago, she got news Scampi had been seen in Islington, north London.

The admin worker said: ‘I never expected to see my boy so old and frail and he didn’t recognise me straight away, but after a while when he looked into my eyes I knew he remembered me deep down.’

Miss Harman said: ‘He was in a cage and he looked awful. We called his name, he looked up, saw it was us and went mental. It was lovely.’

Justine Quirk, a volunteer at DogLost, urged people to microchip their pets and keep their details updated. She added: ‘These stories are heart-warming and testament to the fact families should never give up.’

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
