«Breaking News» PETA billboard in California claims that 'you can't be a feminist and still eat eggs'

A PETA billboard in San Jose is claiming that people who 'still' eat eggs, can't claim to be feminist. 

The billboard, located at 1221 Oakland Rd near Highway 101, was put up in November and will remain up for the month. 

'"Face It—You Can't Claim to Be a Feminist and Still Eat Eggs." That's the message on a new PETA billboard that just went up in San Jose,' PETA said in a statement. 

They added that San Jose was a strong choice to blast the message as the city is city that 'boasts the highest median income for women of all U.S. cities.'

'San Jose is a city of strong women and thoughtful students, which makes it the perfect place to spark a conversation about the blatant misogyny of the egg and dairy industries,' added PETA President Ingrid Newkirk. 

'Female animals are sexually exploited so that humans can drink their milk and steal their eggs, and PETA's billboard encourages everyone to help end this oppression by going egg-free and switching to using vegan milks and cheeses.' 

The controversial billboard has left many perplexed and feeling like the sentiment is missed and over the top. 

'San Jose is a city of strong women and thoughtful students, which makes it the perfect place to spark a conversation about the blatant misogyny of the egg and dairy industries,' added PETA President Ingrid Newkirk (stock)

"Being a feminist and supporting women has nothing to do with how one eats. It's how one treats other people,' Shirley Bell explained to ABC 7. 

'We have a movement right now that’s loud and strong and it’s being heard finally,' feminist Amy Carlson said to KPIX 5. 'To tie it to animal rights, that’s going to go down a whole other path.'

Anna Moore said: 'I was shocked that they actually put that up there. Like, I thought it was actually really stupid. It just seemed really ignorant honestly.' 

PETA would post a video to go along with the billboard called 'Why Feminists Must Reject All Violence, Not Just Violence Against Humans.'

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
