«Breaking News» Ohio sheriff under investigation after he is accused of stealing drug bust money

An Ohio sheriff is under investigation after he was accused of taking money that was confiscated during drug busts and using it to fuel an alleged gambling problem.

The allegations against Pike County Sheriff Charles Reader were made in an anonymous complaint that was sent to the Ohio Auditor's Office last month.

A special prosecutor has since been appointed to investigate the claims.

The complaint, obtained by the Cincinnati Enquirer, claims that Reader stole money that was confiscated during drug arrests and later stored in his office's safe.

It states that only Reader has access to the safe, although it did not disclose how much money was allegedly stolen.

'We believe he is taking money from this safe and using it for his personal use,' the complaint reads.

The complaint claims that Reader has borrowed thousands of dollars from two deputies and gambled it away.

It also alleges that the sheriff allowed his daughter to drive cars that had been impounded by his own office.

'He is a compulsive gambler and never has any money,' the complaint reads.

'Reader just does whatever he wants and no one ever calls him on it. We are scared to death of him.'

The complaint was released by the State Auditor's Office on Monday following requests filed under Ohio's Public Records law.

James Boulger, Reader's attorney, said he believes the allegation that Reader stole money from drug busts will be the 'main focus' of the investigation.

'I think that may be cleared up pretty quickly,' Boulger told the Columbus Dispatch

Boulger said he is 'not aware' of the sheriff having a gambling problem but would not say that Reader doesn't gamble.

He also noted that it was not illegal for Reader to borrow money from friends.

Boulger said he believes the allegations could be connected to 'bitterness' from the fact that some senior personnel were recently laid off from the sheriff's office.

'It's rough, really rough,' Boulger said of the accusations. 'It's the community he grew up in.'

The attorney expects Boulger to release a more detailed response to the allegations later this week.

Pike County Prosecutor Rob Junk requested a special prosecutor take over the investigation due to his 'working relationship' and 'status as legal counsel' for the sheriff's office.

Just last month six people were finally arrested in connection to the horrific deaths.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.

Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
