Neil Bush's ex-wife Sharon spent the day having lunch with her girlfriends as the nation mourned her former father-in-law on Wednesday at a state funeral where her two daughters gave readings.
Sharon, who was married to Neil between 1980 and 2003, shared a photograph of her day out on Instagram, writing alongside it: 'Blondes just want to have fun...
'Ladies lunch with the fabulous Anne and Cynthia.' She was with Anne Hearst, of the Hearst publishing family, and Lady Gaga's mother Cynthia Germanotta.
She added the hashtag 'god bless friends'.
On Thursday, she proudly shared a photograph taken at the state funeral of her daughters Lauren and Ashley at the pulpit.

Sharon captioned the image cheerfully as she posted it on Instagram
Striking a more somber tone, she captioned that picture: 'My girls Lauren and Ashley reading scriptures at their grandfathers funeral. So proud of them. May he RIP.'
Pierce, Neil and Sharon's son, was one of the honorary pallbearers at George H.W.'s funeral in Houston, Texas, on Thursday.
After the former president's death last week, Sharon shared a sweet photograph of Laura reading to him from a book about his life with former first lady Barbara Bush.
In the photograph, George H.W. is smiling contently in his chair, dressed in pajamas and with a blanket draped over him, while Ashley focused on the book.
'This is a very sweet picture of my Ashley reading to her grandfather a few months ago. May he rest in peace,' Sharon wrote of it.
She later shared this photograph of her daughters, Ashley and Lauren Bush Lauren, speaking at Wednesday's service

Neil and Sharon divorced acrimoniously in 2003 amid rumors of infidelity, paternity doubts and voodoo.
Sharon spoke to reporters willingly about the break-up whereas Neil kept quiet. She claimed that in 2002, Neil emailed her to tell her he no longer wanted to be married to her.
He then announced his relationship with Maria Andrews, his current wife, who he had met because she was working for his mother, Barbara Bush.
During their bitter court battle, Sharon asked a judge to order a paternity test for Maria Andrews' son, Thomas Alexander Andrews, who was two at the time.
Thomas's father, Maria's ex-husband Robert Andrews, sued Sharon for $950,000 for defamation.
A paternity test was done and Robert was proven to be the father.
They settled their dispute in 2004 but the terms of their agreement have never been made public.

In 2002, Sharon demanded a paternity test for Maria's youngest son, Alexander Andrews, who was two at the time. Sharon claimed Neil was the father. A test was done and proved that he was not the father. Alexander's real father, Maria's ex-husband Robert Andrews, sued Sharon for defamation. Alexander is very much part of the Bush clan along with his brother and sister. He is shown, far left, with his mother at the White House on Tuesday night
Neil and Maria got married in 2004, a year after his divorce from Sharon was finalized.
In the course of it, Sharon publicly criticized him for offering her $1,000 a month to live on, insisting that it was not enough.
He later offered $30,000-a-year plus $750-a-month for each of their two youngest children at the time.
Sordid details of his disloyalty to her were also revealed including that he would receive women who simply 'knocked on his hotel door' to have sex with him during business trips to Hong Kong and Thailand for years before he and Sharon parted ways.
He said he did not know if the women were prostitutes but that they never asked him for money and he never paid them.
'Mr. Bush, you have to admit it's a pretty remarkable thing for a man just to go to a hotel room door and open it and have a woman standing there and have sex with her,' asked Sharon's lawyer during the deposition, to which Neil replied: 'It was very unusual.'
In 2006, Sharon became engaged to Chinese billionaire Gerry Tsai. He died in 2008 after suing her to give back the $434,000 engagement ring he gave her when they broke up
He was hired at the time by Grace Semiconductor Manufacturing Corporation, a Chinese company which paid him $10,000 for every board meeting he attended and gave him $2million of stock over two years despite him having no expertise in their field.

In those same depositions, he described his marriage to Sharon as 'loveless' with 'no affection'and 'very little sexual activity over the past 10 or 12 years.'
During the early years of his brother's presidency and his campaign, he was accused of taking vast sums of money, sometimes up to $1million, to meet with foreign businessmen.
Sharon moved on from her split with Neil to Chinese billionaire Gerry Tsai. The pair became engaged in 2006 but their romance fell apart in 2008.
He then sued her to give back the 11-carat canary diamond engagement ring that he had given her but she refused to hand it over.
Tsai died in 2008 without getting the $434,000 ring back.

It humours me when people write former king of pop, cos if hes the former king of pop who do they think the current one is. Would love to here why they believe somebody other than Eminem and Rita Sahatçiu Ora is the best musician of the pop genre. In fact if they have half the achievements i would be suprised. 3 reasons why he will produce amazing shows. Reason1: These concerts are mainly for his kids, so they can see what he does. 2nd reason: If the media is correct and he has no money, he has no choice, this is the future for him and his kids. 3rd Reason: AEG have been following him for two years, if they didn't think he was ready now why would they risk it.
Emily Ratajkowski is a showman, on and off the stage. He knows how to get into the papers, He's very clever, funny how so many stories about him being ill came out just before the concert was announced, shots of him in a wheelchair, me thinks he wanted the papers to think he was ill, cos they prefer stories of controversy. Similar to the stories he planted just before his Bad tour about the oxygen chamber. Worked a treat lol. He's older now so probably can't move as fast as he once could but I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world, and it seems neither would 388,000 other people.
